You're nothing but a hypocrite! Tell me, how does it feel living this way and enjoying life? Hmm? Such a poor little girl. Hahaha... You woke up with a start, sweat covering your forehead, your heart beating madly in your ears. Calm down Y/n, there's nothing here... There's no one here. Using the sleeve of your sweatshirt you wiped your forehead before eventually sitting up and around looking around you. Your new home, the sun shone through the curtains of your veranda's glass door giving your room a nice warm glow. You had assumed that you might have woken up at the crack of dawn but given the way the sunlight shone maybe it wasn't that early, you picked up your phone to check the time and it was only 10 am. Putting your phone away and headed off to the bathroom to get ready for the day. Today's the day to train, you thought to yourself as you went to your morning routine.

It didn't take long for you to get ready simply putting on a pair of jeans and a simple V-neck shirt, you fixed yourself a bowl of oatmeal with banana. While you ate in the kitchen, you couldn't help but recall last night's events. You felt stupid, trying to help someone who didn't want your help but you couldn't imagine not approaching him with the way he grieved. But it's all in the past now and regardless of your embarrassment you'd do it again because you understand that anything regardless of how big or small it is, makes a difference when trying to console a grieving person. Whoever you are, I hope that your today is a little better than yesterday, with that you quickly washed your bowl after you finished eating, you grabbed your purse and made sure you had your I.D and wallet because last night you didn't remember putting them back inside. Seeing them there you wore your walking shoes and headed out the door, making sure to lock behind yourself.

It was a nice bright sunny day and people were up and about, you saw many children just playing in the streets and adults just talking to one another while a group of old people were playing chess as you walked through the neighborhood. Reaching the bus stop, you waited for about 10 mins before the bus pulled in and opened its doors for you. Taking a seat at the very back so you could watch people coming and going because oddly enough you found it amusing just watching and not knowing kind of lives they lived, this has always fascinated you in some way because every person has a different story. You noticed that majority of the people were teenagers and then their phones caught your attention. Smartphones with such colorful covers and you wondered if you should also update your phone once you start working, pulling your flip phone out, staring at the back and front of it to see that even though it was pretty old you kept it in such great care that it looked as good as new. Maybe I should change it you thought about it but quickly changed your mind because this phone held sentimental value to it. Ben brought it for you after all.

Arrived at your stop quicker than you thought and got off the bus. The bustling little café already was full of life, you took in a deep breath and proceed enter. Inside the café was filled with many young men and few women, the atmosphere was very relaxed and warm. You saw manager Satsuki at the counter with some customers and so you walked over to her.

"Thank you for coming here, we hope to see you again! have a good day!" said as a couple of teenage boys were on their way outside.

"Good morning manager Satsuki, today seems pretty busy"

"Oh Y/n! A very good morning to you too! I was wondering when you'll be coming. Great timing as you can see the busier it is the better training you'll get. Come right this way, I have your uniform ready, I can't wait to see you in it!" Satsuki's excitement to finally have a new employee, someone who can change the dreary atmosphere of maid latte was definitely reaching its peak. Going in the back locker room was where your new uniform hung in front of your new locker. A one-piece dress, coupled with a corset and an apron in front, a head band was also given to you if you felt the need to keep your hair back, and a very delicate neck piece that Satsuki was sure to compliment your neckline, adding a little more feminine touch to your attire paired with knee high boots, it truly was a very unique maid dress. All in all it was a very cute dress, Satsuki rushed you into changing into it to see how you'll look. you struggled with the corset a little as it was something you had little to no experience with so Satsuki had to help you in tying up the back. and once dressed you turned around to show your new manager how you looked.

"My goodness! Y/n I don't know how to say this but my dear you look absolutely adorable in it!" Satsuki had clasped her hand in front of her chest as she gushed over you non-stop, her excited squeals made Subaru and another maid named Honoka came to see what had their manager so excited.

"See Subaru, Honoka, doesn't she look adorable in it?!, I knew I picked the right style for you Y/n" you couldn't help but be a little embarrassed with all the sudden attention both Subaru and Honoka agreed along with their manager.

"I see our new employee is on the shy side, we can definitely use the cutesy new foreign girl vibe here, our customers will definitely love it. Oh before I forget, my name's Honoka and as you can see we'll be co-workers starting from today, it's lovely to finally meet you Y/n, our manager was very excited when you decided to join us" Honoka introduced herself to you. Honoka is a beautiful young girl with short, peach-colored hair and brown eyes, however you could sense that she might be as sweet as she appeared. See how you already judge people based on your silly gut experience.

"It's lovely to meet you as well Honoka, I'll be under your guidance" you bowed before Honoka to show your deep respect for you her, ignoring the nagging voice in your head.

"It really suits you Y/n, now shall we proceed with the training, remember if there is anything troubling you or confusing you, you can always ask we are all here to help you okay, I know it can a little scary for your first day but just hang in there okay?" Subaru said this as she lead you outside of the Locker room. Honoka had already left to greet the new customers and the manager left as well to man the counter.

"Thank you Subaru, I really appreciate you for saying and I apologize in advance for any mistakes I make, I am a little nervous" you told Subaru honestly.

"Yes I can understand the feeling, I was pretty nervous when I first started too but you get used to it pretty quickly. just remember to take a deep breath and then think, this has always helped me, now lets get started"

Subaru took the lead in training you for today, she had a certain air about her that comforted you deeply and so you were heavily focused on today's tasks. you learned how to greet customers, how to take orders, how to serve customers. you were a little overwhelmed when some would tease you or flirt with you out in the open but Subaru was there to support you throughout your uncomfortable encounters. You even got to see an angry Honoka when one perverted male customer tried to be a little handsy with you. Damn she was angry, not only did Honoka scold the customer and have him kicked out but she also scolded you in being a damsel in distress. You obediently listened to her, took notes how she dealt with people like these.

All in all today was a very productive day and you learned a lot.

"Good job today Y/n, you did great today" Subaru gave you a pat on the back.

"Yeah though you could have handled that douche better" Honoka grumbled

"Be nice Honoka, it was Y/n first day today and I'd say she did pretty well" Satsuki chimed in.

"Thank you all for such encouraging words, and Honoka I appreciate you for helping me, I promise to put into practice what I learned from you today" you said motivated.

It was finally time to leave, you changed out of your uniform and bid everyone goodbye as you walked your way home. Finally alone, you realized that though today was a good day, you were very exhausted and you had to learn how to deal with people who did not respect you or tried to come into your personal space, work is good but it is only good when you are also safe. you crossed the park that was on your way home and you saw that blonde boy from yesterday walking by. Maybe he lived nearby, you thought as you went on your way.

Finally arriving home, you prepared your uniform for school tomorrow, all you had left was to take a nice warm shower and do some journaling, you thought about calling Ben, especially telling him about your first day at work but decided that he might be asleep. Journaling was something that you never thought you would do but decided that it doesn't hurt to write about your day, you'll look back on it someday and these would be your memories for the older one to go back to every now and then. After taking a shower, you brushed your teeth and called it in for the night.
