9:00 am Murrieta Mouse's POV: (The interrogation)

It was tough to provide food ever since my loving husband, Geralt, died. He perished in a battle with a human who attempted to feed me to a snake. He was a sweet and gentle soul. What a pity... may his soul rest in peace... Even though my hopes, desires, and goals were snatched from me; I was still able to unconditionally love and provide for my children. I was able to care for my children, Basil, Missie, Jelly, and Feta, even without my husband Geralt. Life was not easy, but I was able to get my children pastries nearly every day.

But then came Covid 19 hit, and everything came to a halt. Humans in the house all day long, where we resided, stopped going out; they wouldn't even leave their homes to obtain their own food. In the sight of these creatures, how would I feed my children? We started with rationing the leftovers we had between the five of us. There wasn't much. Then came the day we all dreaded the most: there was no food left, and we were famished. Days stretched into weeks, and then Feta succumbed to hunger and malnutrition. I couldn't sit quietly and watch Basil, Missie, and Jelly fall like Feta, so I did what any other mouse would have done. I sliced Feta and fed her to my children while having a slice for myself. Our hunger was sufficient for a while till I got sick. This caused Jelly, my eldest child, to go out and find us food. Hours went by and we hadn't heard from him, Missie volunteered to check the metal traps outside our doors and that's when we heard Missie scream. We ran to the door to see Jelly being eaten by the furry beast Tim. At that moment I had decided I would get revenge but then realized that would possibly get me taken. So as a family, we decided to create a plan to get Tim the beasts' food. Our plan was working out perfectly fine. Missie had gotten the food, and she was running back to our home until she stepped into that sticky substance; it was a trap. The beast had noticed Missie in the trap and alerted the human. We tried to help Missie but she insisted that we save ourselves. As Basil dragged me back to our home we were once again attacked by Tim, Basil didn't make it. I ran to the scavenging bin and hid. Hours had gone by till you found me.

So tell me Officer Jet McRow what would you have done if you were in my situation?
