You're walking home from the village bakery with a bag of bread in your hand, when suddenly a pair of arms hugs you from behind. The person rests their head on your shoulder, still behind you, and kisses your cheek. You see it's your boyfriend, Camilo.

"Hola, mi amor!" He says, giving you a peck on the lips. You smile. "Hola, Camilo. You look very cute today." You say as you put your hand under his chin.  "I could tell you the same thing, bonita." He says, making you blush.

He steps aside so you  an continue walking but he continues to hold your hand. "Ah, it's a beautiful day out today." Camili says as he looks around the town. You  nod. "Its nice, isn't it?" You say.

He stops and looks at you. "Do you remember what tomorrow is?" He says, raising an eyebrow. "Um, yeah. Of course." You say, having no idea what he's talking about. "Perfect! I have something extra special planned!" He says, smiling excitedly.

You just nod. You don't know what to tell him because you don't have a clue why he's excited about tomorrow. "Anyway, I have some chores to do. See you tomorrow, mi amor!" He says and he kisses you once more. You smile as you watch him run off.

But suddenly your filled with worry. What was it you wer supposed to remember? You tried to think. Was it Camilo's birthday? No, that was in December. And it wasn't some kind of holiday either. So what could it be?

Camilo's POV

Camilo ran back home to his family's Casita. He'd told his girlfriend, Y/N, that he had chores, which was technically a lie. He hated lying to her, but it was for a good cause. You see, tomorrow would be their one year anniversary of being together, and Camilo wanted to make it extra special.

He'd already bought gifts for Y/N; the newest book in her favourite series and a sketchbook. But his  personal favorite gift for her was the necklace. It had a rose gold chain with a diamond shape in the middle, made with shiny white stone that shone different colors in the light. The stone was also framed in a rose gold trim.

Camilo knew the second he'd seen it that it would be perfect for Y/N. She'd admired it everytime they walked past the market stall selling it, and she would look absolutely gorgeous wearing it, even though she was already perfect in his eyes. Only God knew how excited he was to give Y/N her gifts and tell her how much he loved her all over again.

But when he'd mentioned it earlier, Y/N had seemed a little confused. But maybe she was just trying to keep a secret as well. Camilo would just have to wait to find out. So he kept busy by wrapping up the gifts and thinking about what he would tell Y/N.

Y/N's POV

You handed your mother the bread when you got home. But you couldn't stop thinking about what Camilo said. "Do you remember what to tomorrow is?"  So you decided to ask the only person who you thought would know - Dolores.

You looked around the village for the all-hearing Madrigal, when you finally found her in a market stall selling jewelry. You noticed that the necklace you'd liked was no longer there. Aww, somebody must've bought it. That's too bad. You think.

"Hey Dolores," you say softly, minding her hearing. She turns to you and waves. "Hello, Y/N. How are you?" She asks. "I'm fine, but I have a question. Camilo was telling me something about tomorrow, but I'm not exactly sure what's so special about tomorrow." You say.

"Oh, that! Have you really forgotten?" Dolores says, raising her eyebrow. You look down to your feet. "Um, yeah. I really don't know what it is." Is your response. She chuckles to herself. "Well Camilo told me not to tell you so that I wouldn't ruin the surpri- on wait, I said too much." She says, covering her mouth. "Oops! You didn't hear anything..." She says.

You pretend to zip your lips and throw away an imaginary key. "Sorry I couldn't help you, Y/N." Dolores says sympathetically. "It's okay, it's sibling loyalty." You say and she smiles. "Bye! Enjoy your day!" You add, and she responds with a quick "You too!"

As you're walking back towards your house, feeling a sense of defeat, you notice a flyer blowing down the cobblestone road. You pick it up and read it aloud. "25th anniversary of the Encanto public library! Come join us for fun and games on Saturday, July 17th." You say. That's in two weeks. You think.

Wait. Anniversary. That's it! It's my anniversary with Camilo tomorrow! I can't believe I almost forgot it! You think. But you suddenly realize you should get him a gift. You know for certain that you're going to make him something, but you want to buy him something too.

You decide the first thing you're going to make him is a little scrap book full of photos and memories of the past year. You grab an empty book and the photos you have of Camilo and yourself, and begin gluing them into place.

After about an hour of work, using glue, markers, tape, and a little bit of glitter, it's done. It's perfect, you think. I hope Camilo will like it. You place the book on your dresser so that it's ready for tomorrow. Then you head back into town once more to get him something.

You walk into the Encanto's music shop, run by the Hernandez family. "Hola Señor Hernandez! I'm interested in buying a trumpet." you say. Your plan was to get one for Camilo because he'd told you how he'd always wanted to learn to play the trumpet. "I didn't know you were interested in music." he said, smiling.

"It's a one year anniversary gift for my boyfriend. You know Camilo." you say. He snaps his fingers. "Ah, yes! Let's take a look, shall we?" he says, leading you towards the selection of trumpets.

He mutters to himself for a moment before finding one. It's gold with small diamond patterns carved into it. He holds it out to you. "I think this one will be a good fit. Its excellent for both professionals and beginners, and it has a very nice tone."

You nod. "It's perfect." You say. He walks you over to the counter and checks the price. "Okay, I will give you a large discount as you are young and it is a gift." He says and you hand him the money. You're very grateful.

"Alright, you're good to go!" He says and waves as you exit the shop. "That you Señor Hernandez!" You say and shut the door. You hurry back home and place the trumpet next to the photo book. You nod at your work and head downstairs for dinner.

Later that night, as you're lying in bed, you think about tomorrow. It will be your first ever anniversary and there's nobody you'd rather have it with that Camilo. So you close your eyes and prepare yourself for the next day.
