He was shocked to hear the news. For that I was sure. I picked up my phone to call him. He picked on the first ring.

“Hey love.” I said.

“What the hell?” he asked. He sounded angry.

“Hello to you too. That’s why I’m calling. I’ve been thinking and I think it’s time we tell Shirley especially now you guys are back together. Maybe we can tell her on Saturday after Andy and Zayn’s meeting.”

“You should have given me a heads up first. You threw me off guard. I kinda thought it was over between us.” He said in a sad voice.

“It’s not.” I assured him.

“What if she doesn’t take the news well?” he asked, concerned.

“We’d know what to do if she doesn’t take it well but I’m sure she will.”

“I hope so. I don’t want anything bad to happen. Like we breaking up or another fight between Shirley and I.”

“Don’t worry. Everything’s gonna be fine.”

“Alright. I’d talk to you later.” He said and hanged up.

I visibly relaxed. This is going to be an eventful Saturday.

Shirley Walliams – Monte Carlo – Family House.

“Okay. Can someone tell me why we are here?” Chris asked. We were at the meeting organised by Andy and Zayn. They still hadn’t told us what the meeting was about. Andy stood up.

“Zayn and I called this meeting because we have a confession to make.” He said. “Zayn and I met through a drug business. He was the seller and I was the buyer. We connected the first day we met and decided to be friends. After some time we’d meet each other, get high and do crazy things. Crazy things like being involved in dangerous acts like going to Farmer Baker’s farm and also having sex with each other.” He ended.

“What?!” James asked. The rest gasped. I sat down in silence.

“We didn’t know how to tell you but I told Corbin and accidentally Shirley found out and got mad at Corbin because I’d sworn him to secrecy not to even tell her. After some thought, we realized that if we don’t come out with the truth sooner than later it will cause more harm than good. We know what we have done isn’t right and we are ready to face the consequences.”

“I seriously can’t believe this.” My dad said. “How could you do this to your sister? Knowing very well she’s in love with him. I know this is going to hurt Shirley but Mr. Princeford I don’t want to see you around any of my children again.”

“But dad….” I was about to object.

“Don’t but dad me. You can’t possibly be found with someone who is more or less gay. I’m sorry Shirley but I can’t let you be in a relationship with this guy. Mr. Princeford, please leave my residence this second and Andy you’re grounded till I decide what I’d do with you. In fact I’m sending you back to rehabilitation.” He ended. You could hear from his voice that he was angry. He got up to leave but stopped to look at Zayn.

“Mr. Princeford I thought I asked you to leave.” Without another word, Zayn got up and left my house and also probably my life. I could not believe this. My dad just ended my relationship with Zayn and all because of Andy. I walked up to Andy and gave him a slap without thinking twice.

“You couldn’t leave it at just sibling rivalry. You just had to do this?” I asked with hot tears running down my face. “I swear you gonna pay for this.” I turned and ran out of the hall into my car and sped out of the house blocking out Dakota’s call.

I cannot believe what just happened. I’ve never seen Shirley this mad before.

“Someone’s gotta go after her. She’s not in the right state of mind to drive.” Dakota said, concerned.

“Let me try calling her.” I suggested and pulled out my phone to call her. I turned to find her phone in her seat.

“Oh no. This is bad.” Chris said.

“Do you have the slightest idea where she’s going?” James asked no one in particular.

“I think I do.” I said and excused myself. I rushed to my car. I started to drive towards to the beach praying fervently that she’d be there. I parked the car at the edge and got down. I ran towards the water, my eyes scanning the place looking for her. I spotted her sitting at the farthest end of the beach. I inhaled and walked towards her. I sat down by her.

“Hi,” I said. She turned to look at me with a sad smile. She had been crying. Her eyes were red and bulgy.

“That was a stunt you pulled there.” I said.

“You know there’s the feeling you get when things aren’t going your way. I just don’t know what to do right now.” She said and burst into tears. I pulled her to my chest.

“You know, when we went on a break I didn’t know what to do. My mind became blank of any thoughts and my heart void of any emotions. I couldn’t believe I’d lost my best friend. I wondered if things we’d go back to normal but now I’m happy we are back together.”

“This is different. I’ve lost the only guy I thought I could be in a relationship with all because of my brother.”

“You know it’s not only Andy’s fault. Zayn was in it with him. So if you’re going to be mad at Andy, you should be mad at Zayn too. I know you’re in love with him but he’s bound to make mistakes.” I told her. She looked up at me and smiled.

“I sometimes ask myself how we became best friends then I realize I don’t need an answer. You’re the answer. You know what to say at the right time. I promise to ask Andy for forgiveness. As for Zayn I know that I can’t see him till daddy allows me to. Thank you for being the best friend I always needed.” She hugged me.

“I need to tell you something. I’m hoping you’d take it well.”

“What’s it?”

“Remember when I told you I’d found my special someone, you asked me who and I told you, you’d know soon enough?”

“Yeah?”

“Well, I think it’s time I told you. It’s Dakota.”

“What?” she asked almost shouting. People around us turned to look at us. “ You’re dating my elder sister who is older than you. How long has this been going on?”

“Almost five months now.”

“Wow. You’ve been able to keep this a secret for almost five months. I’m sure I’m the only one who knows, right?”

“Yeah. We wanted to tell you before anyone else.”

“So how do you plan to tell my dad and brothers?”

“We are thinking of telling them after the talent show.”

“Well if you are happy who am I to tell you otherwise? I just hope you know what you’re doing. Both of you.”

“So you’re ok with it?” I asked to be double sure.

“Of course.”

“Thank you.” I hugged her. “Let’s go home, then” I said. We got up and left to go home.
