I must have slept like a baby, because when I woke up, I could smell breakfast cooking. Typically, I'm the one to get up and cook, which makes me wonder who got up early enough to cook. I decide to shower before I do anything else, because I don't want to go downstairs and let Lily see me looking like a wreck if she's awake. After a brief wash, I shave off what little stubble has collected at my chin (the feeling of facial hair just makes me itch, call me high maintenance if you want) and then head back into my room with a towel around my waist to find my clothes for the day.

To my surprise, Lily was in my room, rummaging through my dresser drawers. When she sees me, she jumps back, a small squeal escaping her lips as she drops what clothes she had bundled in her arms.

"Sorry! I didn't realize you'd be done so soon," she says. I chuckle.

"It's fine. But what are you doing exactly?" I ask, eyebrows raised.

"I was looking for something to wear that didn't look too boyish, I don't have any clothes, they're all at the library. And I certainly can't go to the library looking like this!" she exclaims.

"Can't you just wear the cat costume or the clothes you wore before that?" I ask as she collects the clothes from off the ground. Her eyes find my chest, but I can tell she's trying her hardest not to look at me.

"Ew, no. I like to be clean," Lily says.

"So, were you planning on wearing my boxers, too?" I ask.

"Ugh, I hate you," she says.

"Were you?" I ask.

"No Milo, I was just going to go commando," she says.

"I can't tell if that was sarcasm or not," I say.

"Of course I wouldn't wear your boxers, that's even more gross!"

"Just wear some sweats and a T-shirt. We'll stop at the library so you can get your clothes," I tell her.

"That's what I was going to do. I'm just glad I didn't change in here," she mumbles.

"I wish you would have," I say. She rolls her eyes.

"Just shut up and get dressed. I made breakfast," she says.

"Ooh, what'd you make?" I ask, licking my lips.

"Just get dressed and you can find out! I'm leaving!" Lily shouts, running out. I let out a happy sigh and find a t-shirt and a pair of jeans for the day. Once dressed, I tame back my wild black locks and rush downstairs to see what Lily has made.

"You really didn't have to cook, dear, but thank you, this all looks delicious. Oh Milo, you're awake, good. Lily made German pancakes and bacon for us, isn't that nice?" my mother asks.

"Yeah, this all looks great, thanks Lily," I say, kissing her cheek. She says nothing, just puts two pancakes and a few strips of bacon on a plate and hands it to me before making her own plate. We all sit down and waste no time talking as we shove our faces. The food is great, it makes me wonder where she learned it from. Maybe it was a family recipe.

"So, do you have plans for the day?" my father asks.

"Well, Lily and I are officially a couple now, so you know what that means, don't you Lily?" I say, making her jump.

"I do?" she asks. With the way her cheeks are flushed, there are probably a thousand distinct possibilities running through her mind. It's fun to tease her like this without being afraid that I'll scare her away.

"It means I get to spoil you! I'm taking you shopping, no objections," I say. A look of relief floods her face.

"Oh, okay. Sure, sounds fun," Lily mumbles.
