Upon seeing Kolby, Lily turned around, ready to book it in the other direction.

"Lily, wait! I just want to apologize!" he calls. Lily turns around to face him, and I can see tears brimming in her eyes. I thought Lily was moving past what had happened at the party, but seeing Kolby certainly didn't help. I know it brought back memories of her ex, but I also want her to forgive him, as much as I'm pissed at him, too.

"You really want to apologize? Then tell them the truth," Lily says. Kolby's face twists into confusion.

"What do you mean?" he asks.

"You know exactly what I mean. Tell them what really happened," Lily says.

"Um... Okay... Well, we went into the bathroom so you could do my makeup. You were holding my face and your face was really close to mine, and I found you really attractive and wanted to kiss you, so I did," Kolby says.

"You're missing the key detail," Lily snaps.

"I am?"

"Yes, you are!" she yells, making all of us jump. I've never heard Lily angry before, but there's obviously something Kolby isn't telling us that would make her speak out.

"I really don't know what you're talking about, Lily. Why don't you tell them?"

"Fine. You both think he was drunk? Well, he wasn't drunk, there wasn't any alcohol in his breath. He just kissed me because he thought he could, acting like the typical douche!"

"You weren't drunk?" I ask. Kolby sighs.

"No, I wasn't drunk, just stupid. I thought I could get lucky, alright? I thought maybe she'd find me attractive and kiss back," he says.

"She's not that kind of person," I say.

"I realize that now, and I really am sorry," Kolby says.

"You should apologize to me, too. I brought her as my date. Why would you try to go behind my back like that?"

"I don't know, Milo. I guess I was desperate," he says.

"Desperate? For what?" I yell. "Girls throw themselves at you all the time!"

"But none of them are like Lily. You kept talking about how special she was, how she was this beautiful mystery that only wanted to be with you and nobody else. All the girls that throw themselves at me don't want to be serious! I want a serious relationship, Milo," Kolby says.

"And you thought you could get that with a girl who has a hard time socializing? I could barely convince her to go to the party, and you ruined it for her! You should have known damn well a stupid move like that wouldn't work," I say.

"I know. I was just jealous. I knew she wouldn't kiss back, but I did it anyway, because it pissed me off that you have it better than me," he says.

"You're such an idiot," Marcy says.

"I know. But I really am sorry, okay? Now, can you guys please stop ignoring me? You guys are the only friends I have," he says. I turn to look at Lily.

"So, think we can forgive him?" I ask her. She smiles and nods.

"I think so. But you owe all of us lunch," she says. Kolby smiles.

"I think that can be arranged. What do you guys want?" he asks.

"Dairy Queen?" I suggest. Lily nods, licking her lips. We all give Kolby our orders and sit down while he waits in line.

"Thanks for forgiving him, Lily," Marcy says. "He's really not a bad person, just really stupid."

"I know, which is why I'll give him another chance. I think he just needs to find a girl that will be serious about him, so he can feel the same happiness that me and Milo feel," Lily says.
