It has been a pretty boring weekend. There was the usual weekend cleaning, and Lily and I had a How to Train Your Dragon Marathon, but other than that, it was completely uneventful. Saturday at around 2 p.m. I get a text from Kolby asking if we were going to Randall's party. I had known about the party, but didn't even think to ask Lily about it, considering what happened at the last one.
Not sure why? Are you going
Kolby: Yeah, me and Marcy are, so I figured I would ask if you and Lily were going to go. It'd make it a lot more fun, considering that I don't like Randall all that much.
You don't have to like him to have fun at his party.
Kolby: True, but after the last party, I was really hoping that you would try to get Lily to go so that she could see how fun a party can actually be
I'll ask her, but no promises.
"Who are you talking to?" Lily asks, looking over my shoulder.
"It's Kolby. He wants to know if we're going to Randall's party tonight," I say.
"I didn't know they invited you to a party," Lily says.
"Yeah, but I didn't think that you would want to go after what happened last time," he says.
"It's like you told me yesterday. It's all in the past. I know Kolby isn't going to pull that shit again, now that he's with Marcy. So I wouldn't mind going, if you wanted to go," she says.
"Are you sure?" I ask.
"Yeah, I'm sure. But you'll have to help me figure out what to wear. The last one was a costume party, which made it a little easier to decide an outfit," she says.
"This is just a casual party, I tell her, so you can really wear whatever you want. Most of the girls like to dress up, but it's up to you," I say.
"Well, you bought me a lot of dresses at the mall, so I should have something in there, right?" Lily asks. I smile and pet her head.
"For sure. C'mon, we can go look," I say. The two of us go to her room and begin searching through her closet.
"How about this one?" I ask, holding up my favorite dress of hers. It's a pink, tight-fitting skater dress with delicate lace and a see-through waistline. The only time I had seen her wear it was at the dressing rooms. She hasn't worn it to work or on any dates.
"I don't know, isn't that a bit much?" she asks.
"I don't think so. I think you look amazing in it. Besides, it's one of my favorite picks and I haven't seen you wear it yet," I say. She looks at it again and lets out a playful sigh.
"I'll try it on and see how I feel, but if I feel too uncomfortable, I'm changing into something else," she says.
"All right, fine. But the party isn't until tonight. Do you want to see if Marcy and Kolby want to come over for dinner?" I ask. Her eyes light up, and she nods.
"That sounds like fun. What should I make?" she asks.
"How about we just order pizza or Chinese? That would make it a lot easier and save you some time," I say. Lily makes a face.
"No way, I want to cook. I know, how about fish and chips? Do Marcie and Colby like seafood?" she asks.
"Yeah, they do. I'll text Kolby and see if they want to come over," I say. I pull up my phone once again.
Lily decided that we're going, and she wants you guys to come over for dinner. She's making fish and chips, does that sound good?
Kolby: I'm glad you could convince her to come. And yeah that sounds great
