You Will Be My Eyes

You watched as your team's car sped away. Just in time too, as the cops were soon to follow; given that a man had just fallen from the top story of Merrick Enterprises. As they had passed you, you noticed Andy glance in your direction. For a minute, it made your heart stop.

Did she recognize the bike? Had she realized it was you?

No...certainly not. Lots of people had motorcycles like yours...lots of people.

When they turned down the street and were out of sight, you quickly made your way to the parking garage under Merrick Enterprises. They may have killed Merrick...but that doesn't mean they thought to erase his research, or even their DNA samples from his lab. And those things were just as big of a threat as he was.

It was time to do what you did best...make them disappear.

You parked your bike tucked into an alcove and slung your backpack off your shoulder. You pulled a ball cap out of the bag and tucked your hair up underneath it after you laid your helmet on your bike. You could make yourself disappear from the security tapes later, but you didn't need to give yourself away either; there would still be prying eyes in the building.

You took a service elevator up to the first floor of the lab. You needed an access code, but your phone had a code emulator that worked just beautifully for things like this. When the door opened, you stepped out and looked at all the destruction your team had caused. There were dead bodies everywhere, several walls were destroyed, and bullet casings strewn all across the floor.

Below you, you could hear the sirens of more cops. You needed to hurry. You wouldn't have much time. You quickly pulled up your schematics and made your way to the lab. You opened the door and felt your heart drop as you looked at the four tables, littered with medical equipment and restraints.

Focus Zo. You told yourself. You don't have time for this.

You looked around the room and found the lab computer. Quickly, you plugged in a remote access USB harddrive and it pulled up a scrubber software. It copied all the files on the computer's harddrive to your personal one before scrubbing any existence of them without you needing to supervise; a device of your own invention. While that got started, you began searching the room for any and all hard evidence with your team's names on it. After several sweeps, you had collected several files, DNA splices, and blood samples.

You stuffed them all in your backpack. You could have attempted to look for the medical waste disposal system, but those samples could prove useful to your own research; plus you were running out of time. There was one more other thing you wanted to get your hands on before the cops arrived. When the USB had finished doing its job, you unplugged it, tucking it back in its place before moving to the secondary elevator that led to the penthouse.

It was utterly destroyed. You couldn't help but smile at the sight of it. Your team clearly hadn't lost their flare for the dramatics.

After admiring their work, you went in search of Merrick's personal work computer. You figured it would be in here somewhere and it was the only place left with the original video file of your team from Juba. You needed that to be deleted before you left this building.

You had tried to do it remotely, but for some reason his security protocols had blocked you out. That was the second reason you wanted to get your hands on his computer; to figure out how he managed to keep you from accessing that file.

As you made your way toward Merrick's office, you could hear typing. You slowly and quietly pulled the handguns from your waistband. You always were a supporter of two guns being better than one. You backed yourself up to the corner of Merrick's office door; taking one final breath to steady yourself before stepping inside, guns pointed at the unknown man.
