Chapter 10: Reuniting
****Riley's POV****
It was four in the evening as I stepped out of the car.
"Why have we suddenly come to Kevin's place, Riles?" I watched Lauren's face as I opened the passenger seat door for her. Closing my eyes, I looked away to his house. "He needs to know something and I don't know how he's going to cope with it. He hadn't come to school yesterday so I couldn't tell him." We walked together to his doorstep. "Tell him what?" Lauren asked.
"Tell him that Carol has gone to London and won't be back anytime soon." I sighed. She gave me a small smile and rubbed my arm. "I hope he takes the news well." I croaked. She whispered soothing words as I rang the doorbell.
Nobody answered on the first ring. I rang the doorbell for the second time and got the same response. Swearing I looked at the sides of his house and to his backyard. "Look at the devil! He's sprawled on the grass! What has he been up to?!" I turned the door knob to try my luck and bingo! It opened! "The boy has forgotten that he's a fucking millionaire! Has kept the door open as though welcoming thieves and criminals! Wait till I talk to that little son of a--"
"Riley nincompoop Jacobsen!!!!" I could recognise that voice and that name from anywhere. Even if I were on top of a hill and this girl was on the plains. Okay, exaggerating! But you got my point.
Before I could even face her, she pounced on me and hugged me so tight that the next thing I knew would be me getting bed rest. She wrapped her legs around me and her sudden weight made me topple to the ground with her falling right on top of me on cue. By the way...all of this was happening in front of my girlfriend...
The first thing I realised about the girl was that she was slightly wet. What were they doing here?! Having a pool party?? Secondly, the girl was stinking. She stunk of a mix of foods and even though I loved her a lot, I really wanted her to get off of me. Like right now!
Thirdly, she had put on weight. I knew she wasn't fat yet she was freaking heavy. Fourthly, this British bitch not only had her British and American accent, she had also developed the French one! How hot was that?! Fifthly, her hair was now straight and auburn. She had fringes too.
"Abigail potbelly Watson?!" I chuckled and pulled her up to look at me. She chuckled her familiar giggle and I smiled broadly in what seemed like a long time. "Riles!!" She beamed as her brown eyes twinkled. The clearing of throat brought us back to the present. "Tell me when you guys are done." Lauren stated firmly as she made her way to the door. Panic rushed through me as Abi got off of me and smirked with her hands on her hips. "Unless you want to lose her, nincompoop! Go!" She urged as she shoved me out of the house.
I ran towards Lauren who was making her way towards my car. "Lau! Lau! Wait up! It's not what you think it is!" I yelled. I couldn't lose Lauren! She had to understand.
She jerked to a halt and turned to look at me. The bright sunny day was shining on her face and highlighting her features and it made me smile at how lucky I was to get her! I ran towards her and gently raised her chin to look at me. She looked fierce and hurt. "Lau, the girl back there..." Lauren opened her mouth to speak and I shut mine. Now I knew I was done for. Once Lauren started speaking, it was always advisable to let her finish. There were consequences and they were not pretty favourable...
"Who was that bitch back there?! It was pretty obvious that you know her oh-so-very-well! On top of it, she hugged you like her life depended on it! Like you were her pillar and gravity. The reason for her life! And...how dare she call you Riles?! That's the name only I use for you! Have you been cheating on me?! You guys were so intimate back there!! I could feel it! I really could!" She yelled breathlessly. I massaged her shoulders to calm her down and she fell to my chest.
