Phil calls Puffy in the morning and asks if Purpled wants to go into town with Tommy. When she asks Purpled if he wants to go, he says "yes" immediately.
Phil must hear the reluctance in her voice when she lets him know Purpled has the okay to go.
"If you want me to, I can send Techno out with them. Prime knows I was nervous about Tommy going out on his for the first time." He laughs light-heartedly.
"I suppose. There was an incident last night and I just worry." She admits.
"I don't know what happened, but I understand. You can send Dream out, or Punz, but I know Dream and Techno know each other."
"Okay, I guess I could ask."
And she does. And Dream says yes despite Purpled's groan of annoyance.
Before they know it, Phil's car is on the driveway, and by the looks of it, Tommy isn't any happier that Techno has to tag along.
"C'mon," Phil begins, "it won't be that bad, you're so dramatic." Tommy just hits his head the back of the seat instead.
Secretly, Purpled feels the same annoyance. He woke up today with a plan. A nasty plan, and it was a satisfying coincidence that Tommy wanted to go into town.
"We agree to go our separate ways?" Tommy begs when Phil parks up to let them out.
"Since you got locked in those public toilets and had to use your torch to SOS out the window...no."
"THAT'S NOT FAIR, I'M THIRTEEN, PRACTICALLY AN ADULT." He shouts and Techno snorts and gestures to Dream who is trying not to laugh.
"See," Techno laughs, "adult material right there."
"But it's not fair."
"Purpled isn't complaining about Dream being here." Purpled rolls his eyes.
"Trust me, I am annoyed, I'm just good at hiding it." This time it's Dream who rolls his eyes.
They eventually decide to eat first, and choose a small cafe. Techno and Dream both decide to sit away from them, seemingly done with their teasing.
"So," Tommy starts, mouth full with toast," where are we going first?"
"I have a plan, but we need to ditch those two." He subtly nods towards Techno and Dream who are both drinking milkshakes. It's almost amusing considering the pair used to shoulder each other in the school corridors when it was sports day...or any day really.
"A plan? A shopping plan? What do you need so desperately that requires a plan?" He whispers.
"Someone made Punz sad, and I don't like that." Purpled says as though that explains anything. He's hoping to be vague but unfortunately, he's met with Tommy's scrunched up face.
"Made Punz sad? Are we gonna buy him something to make him happy?"
"No...we are going to buy something to get revenge." Tommy's face lights up, the cogs turning in his brain.
"No way, oh my Prime, what are we gonna do? Who made him sad?"
"A previous foster, I don't want to go into detail, but, I know where they live, and I think we should do some...decorating."
"Decorating?"
"Decorating."
Tommy's grin is evil, and Purpled knows he has this in the bag.
Techno and Dream won't leave them alone and Purpled does NOT have this in the bag. They're in the arts and crafts shop and even though Techno has a basket and is buying seemingly every pencil in the store, Dream is lingering by the entrance, bored out of his mind.
