He was only supposed to buy a few snacks for movie night, but Dream has found himself stock-still in the middle of an isle dedicated to Mother's Day gifts. Rows upon rows of cards, chocolates, teddy bears, mugs, keyrings, pens, picture frames and of course flowers, are all lined up in front of him, seemingly glowing in imaginary light, tempting him to pick something out - to touch and marvel...but he can't.

His feet are glued but he really needs go. Why can't he go? How long has he been here?

His trance is broken as someone walks by, and Dream physically shakes his head before leaving the store.

He has to get home, but the image of the isle is burned into his mind.

Hours later, he's sat between Foolish and Purpled, bowl of popcorn on his lap. He's not sure what they're watching but everyone seems to be enjoying it. Meanwhile, Dream can't get the thought of Mother's Day out of his mind. He ignores the worried glances Punz throws his way, and instead picks at the food in his lap but makes no effort to eat any.

"I'm gonna grab some drinks," Punz announces quietly as not to disturb the film. "Give us a hand Dream?"

It's not a question or even an option, and Dream wiggles his way off of the sofa, placing the bowl on the coffee table in front of him.

Punz is already stood in the middle of the kitchen with his arms crossed.

"You aren't eating, why aren't you eating?" He questions, brow furrowed in worry.

"It's nothing bad I promise." Dream tries but Punz holds up his hands to stop any more excuses.

"You ate half you're dinner. You love Puffy's food. Did- did anything happen while you were out?"

Dream's attention snaps to his older brother and only then does he the anxiousness as Punz bites at his lip.

"No...no I promise, nothing...nothing like whatever you're thinking of. It's...it's something else."

Dream tries his best to ease Punz's worry but both boys have found themselves displaying various nervous habits.

"Can you at least tell me something because I'm scared, Dream, and you're not acting like yourself."

"Mother's Day is soon!" Dream blurts before he can stop the words from spilling through his lips.

There is a pause. Then a step back. Then a snort.

"Is that it? Prime, Dream, I thought you ran into an old foster or something. I had all these scenarios in my head...and you're worried about Mother's Day?"

Dream just shrugs before he nods, tugging at his sleeves.

"Prime sake Dream, what...what are you planning?"

"What?"

"What are you planning? Assuming you have an idea..."

"..."

"Assume you have an idea?" Punz repeats again.

The silence looms.

"Fucks sake Dream, we are doing Mother's Day, right?"

And really, Dream doesn't know.

They gather in Dream's room at midnight, even Foolish who is half-lidded and practically molded into Purpled.

"So it appears Mother's Day is soon and Dream had a little freak out over it and we think we want to do something but we don't know what...any ideas?" Punz begins, looking at the three pairs of tired eyes on him.
