*4 hours later*

I fluttered my eyes open and glanced over at my phone, I looked at the top and saw the time that said 3:34am and 4 miss calls from Tommy. Right when I was about to call him back I heard a loud bang on my door making me jump. I pulled up my ring app seeing him outside pacing.

"Now why is his heavy handed ass banging like that.." I mumbled

"Tommy what's going on? Why you banging on my door like that?" I said looking him up and down.

"So'lana we needa go right now put some shoes on"

Before I could even respond he was jogging back to his car. I slipped on some Gucci slides and followed behind him. I got in and he immediately drove off. He pulled up his gps that said Baylor Scott and White Hospital.

"Tommy, your scaring me what's going on?"

He glanced over at me and looked back at the road.

"Priah got hurt at work" he said not looking at me.

"What?, What happened???"

He didn't say anything, that's when I started to get anxious.

"Tommy, babe what happened to Priah??"

We stopped at the red light and he tapped his fingers on the steering wheel, looking just as anxious as me.

"So'lana she got shot, she's been in surgery for almost 3 hours now."

I felt my heart skip a beat and every organ inside me drop. My body now felt cold and I stared out the window not even realizing we had made to he hospital.

"So'Lana cmon" Tommy said making me snap out the trance I was in

I ran to the big clear doors with tears in my eyes not even bothering to bring my phone or wallet with me. Tommy came in jogging right behind me and pulled me close to him.

"We're looking for Priah Alejandra" He said still holding me.

"Are you family?" The women asked looking at both of us

"Yes" we said at the same time

She wrote the room number on two sticky notes putting them on our shirts.

"She's in room 12 to the left"

As soon as she said the number I was speed walking to her room until I found it. Once room 12 was in my sight I paused, something in me wasn't scared that I'd see her in terrible condition; Knowing I wouldn't be able to handle.

"It's okay, she's gonna be okay" Tommy said in the softest voice

I took a deep breath and slowly opened the door revealing her on the bed. A ran to her and broke down, everything was going through my head at once. I couldn't even fathom how much pain I felt in that moment.

A doctor and two nurses walked in with medications, I watched as the doctor put a stethoscope to her chest and started typing on her computer.

"Good, she's recovering well. Hello I'm Doctor Rivers" the older white women said with a outstretched hand. "Are you a relative?"

"I'm So'lana, her girlfriend." I said with a shaky voice and puffy face

"Oh so you're So'lana, right before she went to sleep from the anesthesia she was mumbling your name."

"Oh.. um how was the surgery?" I asked sitting next to Priah brushing my hand against warm cheek

"It went very well, she lost a lot of blood on the way here but she fought through it. She should be good to go in about 2 weeks, just make sure she drinks a lot water and eats at least two meals a day."

"Ok, thank you so much" I said wiping the tears from my face

The doctor walked over to me over to me hold my hand in hers, slightly catching me off guard.

"She'll be just fine" she said before walking out of the room

2 hours had went bye and I was sitting in the chair spaced out. I already called my assistants to let them know I won't be there for a while because I didn't care about anything but Priah right now. I felt myself about to cry all over again, I couldn't even imagine how she felt in the moment.

"Lana.." I heard a soft voice say

I immediately popped up to see Priah looking at me with her eyes barely open.

"PRIAH!"

I ran over to her bed and gently sat down holding her face in my hands.

"Baby... I'm so sorry this happened to you I'm so sorry"

"It's ok, I'm ok"

I leaned down putting the softest kiss on her lips. I kept my distance from her body not wanting to hurt her but she grabbed my torso pulling me closer to her.

"Priah-"

"It's ok mama" she said with a raspy voice.

I ran my fingers through her curly hair kissing the top of her forehead. I heard slight sniffles and looked down to see tears running down her face, 

"Priah, baby you in pain what's wrong??"

"Yeah. but that's not why i'm crying"

"Why you crying?" I asked wiping the tears off her face with the back of my hand

"I was scared So'lana, once that bullet hit me I truly realized how much I had to loose. I love you so much.."

Before I was able to tell her I love her back she grabbed the sides of my face pulling me into kiss. I swooped my arm underneath her neck holding onto her in a way I never have before.

"I love you more my love, you don't even know" I said looking deep into her eyes.

I sat there like this holding her until I felt her fall asleep in my arms, occasionally placing my finger under her nose.

I heard a knock on the door making me turn and see a large figure standing there. I couldn't really see his face because of the hoodie he had on but it looked like he stood at around 6'1.

"Yes?" I said slowly walking up to him

Once I got a clear look I realized it was her brother, TK.

"Oh my gosh, hi... come in"

I said closing the door behind him. We had met once at their abuelitas restaurant and my first thought was how much of a mean mug he had. But looking at him now, all I saw was rage and hurt. He walked over to me giving me a small hug then walked over to Priah, sitting down next her.

"Has she woken up yet?" He asked with a deep voice

"Yeah she was up about 35 minutes ago, then she went back to sleep.."

I watched as he grabbed her hand and held it in his, staring down at her.

"You know who did this?" He asked now looking at me

"Umm, the police said his name was Chr-"

"It doesn't matter, it's over" Priah said catching both of our attentions. "Just leave it alone" She said looking up at her brother.

"Diamond, you know me you know I won't let this go"

"Please" She said and I could see his whole face soften.

"...Alright"
