Eudaimonia. A city with pearly white walls and bright, bubbly people. The streets were always filled with hustle and bustle and the sun was always shining. It was perfect. No homelessness, no racism, no sexism... At least. That's what the bare minimum should be right? "Every human is treated like a human.", shouldn't sound as appealing as it does. But that's just the world we live in. By giving its citizens those rights, Eudaimonia was able to market itself as a 'Utopia' to those outside, that only the elite of the elite could afford to live. Ironic, isn't it? Only those with the highest power get to live in perfect happiness, while those who can't are forced to live in a world where they could be killed over race, how they speak, how they act, where they live, and so forth. The only exception was if you helped with the upkeep. Which makes sense, I suppose. You help keep the happiest place on earth up and working (sorry mouse) and you get to retire inside the walls that separate them from the world. It's fair, isn't it?

...No. It never was, was it?

You see, with all the people from outside, that hadn't been taught or trained in the ways of perpetual eternal happiness, they brought with them other emotions. And this, in turn, brought about the shady underworld of Eudaimonia. Why is it still running? Why is this river of black still running through the ichor ocean of joy? Because it makes people 'happy'. That's it. The reason why you can find a drugged-up teenage girl in a skimpy skirt up an alley, with very clear signs of...? it's because it made that 30-year-old man who owns the bar 'happy'. The reason why that girl has all the corpses of past lovers roped up in her basement, with hundreds if not thousands of stab wounds littering their bodies? Because it made her 'happy'! Why does that person over there have ten people kneeling at their feet under the guise of them being 'indentured' and 'simply working off a debt' when they very clearly aren't there because they are 'indebted'? Well, it makes them 'happy' of course! You see? As long as it's under the guise of someone being happy with those results, it'll be allowed. Horrible, isn't it? Those who lived in the city since birth are as happy as can be, while those who came in from the outside use that to their advantage. They use and abuse those who are truly happy, gaining that happiness while others slowly fall into depravity. How disgusting. How disgraceful.

Usually, in this situation, those who would be smart enough to run from this horrible town would run. Run to the center of the city and drop down into the emergency tunnels that lead to the outer world. Tunnels that run the length of the city, would've been used in case of a city-wide disaster. Of course, though, it's in the very center of Eudaimonia so people can't run away. I mean, that would look terrible on the city's record. And we don't want that, do we?

And, the... law systems and law enforcement are always on the prowl. Now, as far as the citizens, at least the uneducated ones, are aware; There are no prisons, no penitentiaries. Nothing. When someone is arrested for disturbance of the peace, they have a frown on their face or destruction of government property, they don't return. With no place to hold them, there is only one other option for those who have 'done wrong' in this city is... I'm sure you can guess.

The city of happiness, love, and true heart. A city that bears a terrible secret. A city with more bodies to bury than it would like to admit. A puzzle where you find pieces within other pieces. So many mysteries to uncover.

Well, let's say you found out about this, after already being skeptical of this city you were born in, having found out and uncovering the secrets one by one. And when their mother tips the scales by revealing that they came from outside, beyond the walls? Well, the human urge to run when a sense of dread creeps up their back is a strong one, isn't it?

It's up to you to figure out what exactly is happening in our lovely town of Eudaimonia and... what's with all the cameras?
