“Wait!” Lexy calls out to Luke, before she can over think what she was doing. Luke had already made it halfway to his car before Lexy decided to call after him. Lexy’s eyes were plastered to the back of Luke’s head when he came to a halt. Luke stood there for a moment, not facing Lexy. Then he finally looks over his shoulder, smiling at her, as if he had been expecting her to stop him

Luke then starts slowly making his way back to Lexy’s car. When he reached it, he looks at her and says, “What?”.

Lexy’s mind then went blank. She had absolutely no idea why she stopped Luke in the first place. She then blurts out, “Get in.”.

“What?” he asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

“You heard me. Now, get in.” she orders.

“I know what you said. What I don’t get is why.” he says.

Lexy doesn’t respond to this, she just stares at him, because she doesn’t have a answer to that question. Eventually, Luke sighs, shrugs his shoulders and says, “Fine.”

Lexy and Luke drive for about five minutes in total and complete silence, no radio, no nothing. Ever since Luke entered her car she couldn’t shake the feeling he was giving her. She couldn’t exactly put her finger on what that feeling was, but it wasn’t a feeling she liked. It was like a mixture of nerves, and a eerie feeling, and she couldn’t get rid of it. Maybe deep down, she still thought Luke may have had something to do with Brydan’s death, but she wasn’t about to make her feelings known.

“Okay, enough Lexy. Something’s bothering you. I can feel it.” he finally said.

“No, nothing is bothering me. I’m fine. Can’t a girl just not talk without everyone thinking there’s something wrong?” she asks, feeling more uneasy, now gripping the steering wheel.

“Well, yes, but I can tell that something is bothering you. You’ve not said a word since I got in the car, and if you hold onto that steering any tighter I’m gonna have to get your hands surgically detached from it.” he says, eyeing my hands.

Instantly, Lexy relaxed her hands, and breathed out. “Okay, fine. In all honesty, I have no idea why I asked you to get in.”

Luke thought about that for a moment, and a grin spread across his face, then it faded again. “I bet I know why…”

Lexy then raises her eyebrows, “You do, do you? Enlighten me then.” she says sarcastically.

“Well, for one, I think you like me, but don’t want to admit it to me or yourself, and two, you think I have something to do with Brydan’s death, and that leads me back to the first one, that’s why you won’t admit it.” he concludes.

Lexy then, mentally and physically, rolls her eyes. Me, like you? No way, Lexy thought to herself. “In all honesty, Luke,” Lexy says, mocking him, “that is the most preposterous thing I have ever heard.”
