CHAPTER FIVE
Out some sort of instinct, I grab Jordan's arm and I basically drag him away from the puke.
As we head back to The Path of Roses, I remind Jordan to keep taking deep breaths. He's still not meeting my gaze, which I understand. I literally did the same thing like twenty minutes ago.
We ended up sitting on the grass next to the actual The Path of Roses.
Loud, awkward silence was making its presence in the vicinity again. I had to think of something to calm Jordan down other than to tell him to keep taking deep breaths. It's the very least I can do, considering he tried helping me.
"It's your turn." I finally say.
"M-my turn for what?" He asks, keeping his gaze on the ground and on his hands that are slightly shaking.
"Your turn to reveal yourself." I explain. "Who is this mysterious Jordan that I met today? What should I know about him?"
"W-well the first and most obvious one is that he hates the sight of puke." Jordan mumbles in humility.
"Uh huh... and?"
"And he, er, I mean me, is an honors- um, I didn't mean to say like that, but-"
"It's okay. I get the idea." I say with a chuckle and an understanding smile.
He smiles gratefully. "Um, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm an honors student and Treasurer of the Student Council at Trudy Morgan High School."
"Wait, you actually like school?" I ask, completely flabbergasted.
"Yeah." He shrugs. "Don't you?"
"Hell no!" I declare. My eyes narrow at him, both bewildered and in complete disbelief.
"What kind of universe are you living in?" I question.
"I'm living on a planet called Earth," He jokes, finally looking at me, with those beautiful eyes of his. "What about you?"
"Haha so funny I forgot to laugh." I reply sarcastically. "But seriously though, why do you like school?"
"I honestly don't even know." He chuckles shyly. "It can be kind of fun sometimes."
"No offense, but the fact that you like school is so weird." I say while flicking a random leaf towards him.
"And what makes you so normal?" Jordan chuckles, flicking the leaf back to me.
"I never said I was." I reply cooly.
"True, but you must have some quirks or fetishes that I'll find weird." Jordan says, pressing the subject.
"Maybe I do, but I'm not going to tell you." I say, flicking another leaf at him.
"Why are you depriving me of details about yourself?" Jordan asks teasingly, flicking the leaf at me.
"Because I barely know you. And how do I know that you're not going to blab about this to your friends and then when I go to school in September, everyone's going to know everything about me?" I interrogate.
"Okay," Jordan says, scooting closer to me.
"One important thing you should know about me is that when you tell me something important or private, I keep it to myself. I don't like telling people about other people's business. It's not my style."
