I ran. And I ran. And I ran.
I didn't know were I was running, I just had to get away. I mean, deep down I knew that this day was going to come. Deep down I knew that one day my dad would just go off the deep end and some how manage to kill us all but..it still hurts.
I watched from the shadows as my beloved boy friend viciously attacked my brother and I watched as our so called mother willingly gave us up just to save her self. It wasn't right. So I did the only thing I could do, I cut off his arm.
"Damn!" I hissed as a sharp piece rock sliced my bare foot. I guess I was in such a panic to get out that I forgot my boots.
So I limped. And I limped. And I limped.
"Aggghrrrrrrnn."
I quickly turned around and there he was. He was fast for an undead.
"Stop, Justin!" I yelled clutching the knife harder in my left hand.
He didn't move. He just stared at me with a familiar look in his eyes. The look that said either he was hungry or that he understood--probably the first one.
"Who's out there? I've got a gun!" I herd my best friend call. I guess I somehow ended up in his back yard. He lived really close to me.
"Aaahhhvveeerry." Justin grunted before staggering back the way he came leaving me breathless and confused.
"Ave? Avery, oh my Lady Gaga! What the hell happened to you? Was that Justin? What's going on?! Speak to me!" he yelled shaking me by the arms.
That's Gio for you; Lady Gaga loving, wannabe Justin Bieber, queen of all peasants, and certified diva.
"Calm down, Gio. I'm fine! Just help me inside and I'll try to explain."
After we had successfully gotten inside, Gio walked me to the bathroom and swiftly lifted me up and placed me on the white marble counter. It was cool against my silky blue pajama bottoms.
"Ave, you need to explain to me what happened and you need to explain now," he said firmly but from the look in his eyes I could tell he already had some suspicions.
"It's happened." I whispered as he cleaned my wound and bandaged it. When he didn't respond I continued, "Code Z."
As soon as I said that his head jerked up as I confirmed the horror. You see, when we were younger we used to watch a lot of Zombie movies, thanks to my dad, and we decided to make a code for if we ever saw any signs of a Zombie Apocalypse. Code Z just kind of fit. But of course as we got older and zombie movies turned into Justin Bieber documentaries, all was forgotten. That is until today.
"Justin's one of them," I whispered, more to myself, as Gio was already out the bathroom door.
"Where are you going?" I called limping my way out of the bathroom. He was facing one of his many posters of One Direction.
"It's not safe Avery. We have to go." I never heard Gio sound so serious in my life, and quite frankly, it scared me.
"What..?" I questioned.
"If what your saying is true then we have to go!" he hissed, whipping himself around so fast you'd swear he'd catch whiplash. "I promised Ted I'd protect you and damn-it that's what I'm gonna do!"
"Leave Ted out of this!" I hissed getting angry. Ted was my older brother. He died in a car crash when I was 12 from 3rd degree burns. Ted and Gio were best friends and I guess when Ted passed, Gio took it upon himself to become my brother figure. He was pretty good at it as we've been best friends ever since.
"No," I whispered, Gio's green orbs boring into my own. "It's my fault Justin had anything to do with my dad! It's up to me to find him and stop this--this infection from spreading. Now, I'm gonna do this with or without your help.." I stated sticking my hand out. "And I'm only going to ask this once, okay? You in?" I asked with a determined face.
He then placed his soft hand on mine, "Tonight lets get some!" he joked. I rolled my eyes. "Okay, fine I'm in." he chuckled cupping my cheek. "Me and you against the world cause we are now, officially that is, some bad ass zombie slaaaaayeeeeeers!" Oh, Gio, what are we going to do with you?
Anyways, that's how the hunt to find my killer zombie boyfriend,(Or at least I think he was still my boyfriend)Justin, began.
Author's note: It's a little shorter this time but hey, Avery and Gio are going to be some amazing zombie slayers am I right? ;) A big thanks and dedication to Aushy since she is my co-author. I'm pretty sure she'll be writing everything for Avery with my help and I'll be writing everything for Justin with hers. Thanks for reading guys! Can I have 5+ votes for chapter 3?
