Mac entered the office and placed the bag with the lunch box on the glass table, then walked over to his desk exhausted and stared blankly at the bag.
"You act like I'm a kid, idiot," Mac complained as he looked at the lunch bag. Nan's nervous face floated in his mind.
Tru...tru...tru
Mac's phone rang, and he pulled it out and answered it when he saw it was Dew's number.
"What's happening?" Mac answered the call from his friend.
("Have you made it to the office yet?") Dew asked immediately. "It's been a while, what's up?" Mac asked.
("No, I was worried, so I called to ask.") Dew said in a serious tone that made Mac quiet a bit. Nan's words that Dew considered himself more than a friend came through immediately.
"Oh thanks, I'm fine," Mac replied, frowning. Mac didn't care if his friend really liked him, but he didn't think of Dew as more than a friend.
("Your car is broken, right? I'll come pick you up in the afternoon.")Dew said.
"No...uh...I can go back on my own, I don't want to bother you," Mac replied, because Nan would come to pick him up. He didn't want Dew to get in trouble with him.
("Why? Or is that bastard going to pick you up?") Dew asked immediately.
"Hmm," Mac replied bluntly, Dew was silent for a moment.
"Ai'Dew, what's up?" Mac asked his friend.
("Why, why do you have to accept everything? Is he threatening you? You can tell me, Mac. ") Dew replied, causing Mac to remain silent for a moment, unable to say anything. He didn't want to say anything to his friend right now, he didn't want to look worse or more pitiful in his friend's eyes.
"Forget it," Mac interrupted.
("How can I do that? It hurts me too.") Dew yelled in frustration.
"Can you stop talking about this, Dew? I don't want to think about anything. If you keep talking, I'll hang up." Mac pretended to be angry that he didn't really want to talk about it. Dew calms down a bit.
("Sorry, I've been too deep in your business"), Dew replied.
"You're not, Dew, I don't want to talk about it right now. I told you when I'm ready, I'll tell you myself," Mac replied, because he didn't want his friend to feel bad.
("Hmm") Dew replied with a snort.
("Do you want me to pick you up at noon and eat out?") He asked Dew again, and Mac hesitantly stood looking at the lunch box Nan had wrapped.
"Its okay, I'll eat at the office. You works at your store, let's save that for another day," Mac said dismissively.
("As you wish") Dew replied.
"Well, that's it for now, I'm going to work," Mac told his friend. Dew said goodbye before hanging up. Mac sighed deeply as he apologized to his friend in his heart before continuing with his work.
