I jolted up awake from my bed. Amanda turned to look at me with a big frown. My eyes widened when I noticed that she had... long hair.
We were in our apartment back in college. Wait...
We were still in our apartment back in college.
“Would you get your stupid ass up? I’ve been packing our bags for the last hour since you decided to go clubbing last night.” She scolded.
“When... when is today?” My eyes widened with shock. I was still holding the sheets.
“You fucking idiot, we are supposed to leave today, to go home. We made that clear and yet you decided to go drinking and got yourself spiked.”
“I was spiked?”
“Of course, you wouldn’t know because you’re so reckless.”
That’s when I realized my banging head. I held it.
“If it weren’t for Brenda giving you company, who knows where you'd be right now.”
“Wait... it was last night?”
“No, a decade ago.” she said sarcastically.
“But... how did we arrive here so fast if we were in Vegas?” I was confused.
She narrowed her eyes and looked at me in confusion. “That drug really got in your head.” She kept on with the packing. “You were at the club downtown, you big goof.”
Woah! Hold up... let’s go back.
“Amanda...” I sat upright. “When is today?”
“Saturday, we just finished our last exam yesterday.”
Oh fuck, oh fuck... no... yes... no.
“I was dreaming.” I scolded angrily.
She turned to look at me with a frown. “And thank God you’re awake 'cause you’re wasting time.” She pointed at my bedside table. “Drink that. It will lower your headache.”
I got up. “Amanda, I had the craziest dream.” I sounded like a little kid.
“You’ll tell me after you drink that.” She didn't stop packing.
“Urgh, screw that. I was kidnapped in Vegas.”
“That would’ve been great cause I wouldn’t have to be dealing with you right now.” She wasn't looking at me.
“No, you were frustrated when you find out. Actually, you didn’t find out until after a year or so.”
“Mh, a year of freedom from you.”
“You cried... and you were all blaming yourselves...”
She cut me off. “Whoa... back up, back up. You’re being ridiculous right now.”
“It’s true.”
“No, it’s not, it’s a dream.”
“Of course, that’s what I said.”
“If you’re not going to take that pill then at least get in the shower and hurry. After I’m done packing and you’re not here, I’ll leave without you.”
“NO,” I shouted.
She stopped to look at me like I was crazy. “Are you okay?”
“If you leave me I’ll go to Vegas and Apollo will spike my drink and kidnap me.
She looked at me with a short pause. “Apollo?” She burst into laughter leaving me feeling confused and ridiculous.
What I said did sound ridiculous.
