"I have no idea what I'm doing..." Beomgyu says as he chops up what seems to be green leaves, but he's not sure exactly what kind they are. the messy chopping board nearly falls down when he tries to dump the vegetables on it into the boiling pot, but manages to save it in the last minute. although costing him one, small burn in his left thumb.

"shit." he hisses, shaking his hand to cold it off.

"are you okay?" Hiyyih eyes the red spot on Beomgyu's hand. debating whether to check up on the burn or let Beomgyu handle it.

"hurts a bit.." he gives her an honest answer, which takes her by surprise.

she opens the water tap without saying a word, and leads Beomgyu hand closer to the running stream.

he sees her eyeing the cabinets, probably looking for an ointment of sorts, but he reassures her it's not neccesary.

"be careful next time, idiot. anyone could've seen the pot tilting.." she teases, but it's sounds more like worried scolding. which sounds foreign coming from her mouth. "you're so clumsy.." she adds in a slight whispery tone that for some reason soothes Beomgyu more than he likes to admit.

is this one of her powers too? sweeten her voice, just like she did with that cop?

"then why didn't you stop it." He questions in a sassy like voice.

"maybe I wanted you to learn your lesson."

Beomgyu thinks nothing of that answer. discarding Hiyyih words and assuming she said so because of their mutual, unending feud. won't be the first time she ever (teasingly) said stuff like that.

little did he know.....

"how's it going?" Taehyun pops into the kitchen with the ingredients he picked out of their garden pots. taken care of and planted by Yeonjun who claimed growing food, specifically flowers and leaves is effective in improving one's mental health and mindset ... or something along those lines.

"Beomgyu burned himself, how surprising." Hiyyih briefs in a dull voice, as if sick and tired of Beomgyu. which the younger knows is just an act to hide their actual feeling because there is no way, that the two are still so oblivious to their effect on one another.

"really? on no.." Taehyun grazes his finger over Beomgyu's tiny burn.

"it's fine, it doesn't hurt a lot. my future in the kitchen is effectively ruined though. so have fun in here!" Beomgyu hands Taehyun the wooden spoon, and announces that he is retiring from cooking for his true passion. and leaves after grabbing his sketchbook and pencil from the counter where he had briefly placed it.

"Hyung?"

"what!"

"can you call the Hyungs first? we're almost done here... the soup only needs to simmer for a while."

"sure!"

......................

Beomgyu heads upstairs. his sketchbook still in his hand, not having notices that it's even there. he carries it as if natural to him.

he's a little, or a lot bummed that his last book got swallowed by the collapse of the motel back in Korea. and even since then, he has been trying to recreate his past few drawing. more accurately.. one specific drawing.

his free hand knocks on the semi open door, moving it slightly further with his knocking.

he looks inside, heart filling with warmth, familiarity. and a sense of proudness and gratefulness overwhelms him. it's really a messy mixture of various emotions, a good mixture. but still unexpected.
