Lilac Rain

You are the purple lightning illuminating my tear stained cheeks pink,

the violet storm that resonates through my glass windows,

throwing thunder off of my windowpane into empty defeat.

You are the dark blue rain leaking into my dreams as I sleep,

drenching all my thoughts in soft glowing indigo as thick as tar,

beneath my feet pulling me down into the asphalt pit.

You are the silver puddles left behind smoothing out the pot holes,

the liquid mercury reflections of the sky as it conceals it's last weep,

you soak into the ground as a platinum catalyst; speeding up the tremors of the earth,

as it shakes to your irregular heartbeat.
