When the light dimmed, they were all back in the rundown house, the last of the thorns withered and dead, allowing the family access to the second floor and where Mal was. Aurora and Leah think about how Mal views her mother is just one of Maleficent's mean titles, and she wants Persephone to be her real mom. The family only looks at each other briefly before walking up into the newly opened passageway. They felt like they were walking for a long time before they finally reached a room; there was an old bed with a chandelier hanging over it that looked like it would fall at any minute. Also, the walls are painted, which could rival Rapunzel's art.
Out on the balcony, they hear the sound of a child crying. When they went out on the balcony was, a child, Mal looking out on the isles and was calling, whispering to herself. "Why does Maleficent have to be my mother? I don't even know my full name; mother will only tell me when she deems me evil enough; you shouldn't cry, only weak, and I'm the daughter of Maleficent." Child Mal was whispering to herself. The sight of this made the entire family filled with sadness. Philip for Mal never getting to have a loving father in her life, Aurora for Mal not having a mother that loves her, Audrey for comparing Mal to her mother, and for Leah she felt awful for at first mistaking Mal for her mother and her actions on parents day.
The family wanted up to child Mal. When child Mal looked behind her, and so she was trapped. She is scared, but Philip hands her the dragon eye." Remember, Mal, and you have friends that are your family." Aurora gave her the strawberries." Remember that Ben showed you what true love is." And Leah gives her the vinyl record." Remember that your father loves you with all his heart and only left so Maleficent wouldn't kill you." Child Mal looks at the items before a smile appears on her face. The world around them went white as they all woke up.
