08 • Practice

~Todoroki POV~

        I think I'm going to visit my mother today. I haven't really been able to visit her lately with all the schoolwork we have been getting, I think to myself as I start walking to the hospital, I can tell her all about Y/N.

        I reach the hospital and walk inside. I greet the receptionist and walk into the elevator. The elevator soon stops at the second floor and the elevator door opens. I walk out and start looking for room 101. I get to the end of the hall and see it. I walk up to the door and gently knock.

        "Come in!" I hear my mother say from inside the room.

        I walk in and greet her, "Hello, mother. I'm sorry I haven't been able to visit lately." I tell her as I sit down on the nearest seat.

        "It's fine, Shoto!" She answers as she sits beside me.

        "How have you been?" She asks.

        "Good, I met this really nice person and...I think I might...like them." I replied, muttering the last two words under my breath.

        "What was that Shoto?" She asks and I look down.

        "Well I think I might like them." I mutter loud enough for her to hear, I look back up at her.

        Her eyes are wide and I ask, "Mother?"

        She shakes her head and looks me in the eyes, "That's great, Shoto." She says in her calm voice.

        We then just talk about how life was going. I check the time and realised that if I don't leave soon I'll be late and curfew won't let me back in the dorms. I tell my mother goodbye and run to UA, being just in time before curfew. I quickly run to the dorms and into my dorm room.

        I am about to open my door when I hear music coming from Jirou's room. I decide to walk over and take a peek. I look inside and see not Jirou, but Y/N playing the guitar. My lips form a small smile before knocking on the door.

        You are playing the guitar in Jirou's room when you hear a knock on the door, "I'll get it for you." Jirou says as she gets up and opens the door.

        "Oh, hey Todoroki, what's up?" You say as you put the guitar down and walk to the door next to Jirou.

        "Well I heard music coming from here and it didn't really sound like Jirou's type of music, so I wanted to check it out." He says.

        "Oh, sorry if I was being too loud. I asked Jirou if she could teach me how to play, so she asked me to show her what I can do!" You reply showing him the guitar.

        "It's fine, anyway, I'd better get to my dorm." He says as he turns around.

        "Yeah, I got to continue practicing anyway!" You say as he walks away and closes the door.

        "You know, Y/N, I think you should represent class 1-A at the UA cultural festival!" Jirou says as you walk back to the guitar and put it away.

        "I couldn't do that, plus I think you should do it. I mean, you're way better at playing instruments." You reply, shaking your head.

        "No, you have to be the one to do it!" She says, grabbing the guitar you just put away, "I know you can do it, and if you need me then I'll be right here."

        You hesitantly take the guitar, "Fine, I'll do it!"

        The cultural festival was a few days away and you spent all your free time practicing what you were going to play. Finally, you perfected it and went to see Jirou.

        You get to her dorm and knock on the door. No answer, so you decide to go in, but she wasn't there. You see a note on her bed, you walk over and grab it.

        'Hey, Y/N. I'm sorry I won't be able to hear your finished product, I'm out with Mina. We're going to look for what you could wear. She wanted to keep it a surprise for you though!' You finish reading the letter and walk out.

        "Hey Y/N." You look up to see Todoroki.

        "Hey Todoroki." You reply.

        "Are you okay? You seem down." He says, noticing your disappointment.

        "It's nothing, really." You say.

        "Tell me." He says as he walks closer and puts his hands on your waist.

        Your eyes widen and your cheeks turn a hot pink as he places his hand on your waist. You shake your head.

        "Well, Jirou went shopping with Mina to help pick out what I'm going to wear for the festival, so I have nobody to show what I came up with to make sure it's worthy of the festival." You reply.

        "...You could always show me, you know." He replies letting go of your waist.

        "Really, you wouldn't mind?" You ask, looking up at him.

        "Of course not." he says, "Why don't you show me now?" He says walking and opening to door to his room.

        "I would like that!" You reply as you walk into his room.
