We trained for a good 3 hours, mostly just perfecting my aim with magic and quickening my movements with it. I had a few moments of doing something I didn't know I could do, one of them being that I accidentally took away Aylin's sight and hearing. It took me a couple minutes to figure out how to give them back to her, at which point she magically threw me across the field and threatened to rip out my esophagus if I ever did that to her again. I had wanted to go watch my dad kick Roman's ass but I was too caught up with my own training.
Aylin was a badass, it seemed like she was trained in everything-hand to hand, magic, and she was a boss ass bitch with her dagger. I practically begged her to train me with a dagger and twin blades. I did get the upper hand on her once or twice, but both times she managed to get her dagger and held it to wherever she would have stabbed me. I guess I should be proud that she has over 250 years of experience on me and I held my own.
The two of us plus Roman and dad are walking back to the castle, and Roman is practically carrying me. When I asked who won the fight, he simply said it was a draw and my father just smirked. Honestly, I don't know if I believe him. I don't think he's willing to admit he got whooped.
"Do you think everyone else is awake yet? I'm starving but I don't want to eat again without them" I ask no one in particular
"Portaling takes a lot of energy out of morals the first time, they'll likely sleep until the morning. We had food brought up to them for lunch, and gave them a spelled bell that would alert the servants and myself if they woke up and were hungry or wanted to leave their chambers." Aylin responds
"Oh" I said, feeling a little disappointed. I couldn't wait for them to experience this beautiful world with me, and I wanted them to get to know the rest of my family.
"Azrael is cooking us dinner now, so that's where we're going" she says
"In our workout clothes?" I ask looking down at myself, I still have bruises that are healing and I'm covered in dirt, grass and a little blood. Not that I would eat in anything different at home, but it seems...out of place to do it in a castle among royals.
"It's just family, occasionally the Duke and Duchess join us, but I doubt they will be there tonight and even if they were, it's a rather informal relationship behind closed doors...similar to Roman and his beta" my father cuts in
"Fair enough." I say, giddy to meet Azrael "wait, Azrael cooks dinner for you guys? Often?" Goddess, the Alpha's son back at Red Moon pack never lifted a finger, I often wondered if he had the omegas wipe his ass for him.
"Of course, he loves to cook and it gives the servants and cooks the evening off. Him and I often take turns. I'll probably cook tomorrow. Do you like to cook?" my dad asks
"I wouldn't say I enjoy it, but I can and do cook. I did all the cooking in my household at my previous pack. I was home all day and Sophie can't cook to save her life. You know I watched her burn spaghetti once? While the pasta was boiling! And well, the dickhead I lived with couldn't be bothered with "female tasks". I did actually enjoy doing it though before I had no choice but to. My mom taught me, we would spend hours in the kitchen together, even when I was a pup" I say with a soft smile
I still remember my favorite dishes she taught me to make, some of her signatures. I never ever cooked them for Felix, it felt like I was violating the memory if I did, but I would happily do it for all the family I have here with me.
"Maybe I can help tomorrow! My mother's chicken marsala recipe is the best. Plus, I've gotten spoiled always having my meals cooked for me at the packhouse" I say, looking up at Roman with a cheeky smile
"Did I ever voice any objections to you cooking for me? Actually, if I recall correctly, I told you I could eat your food for every single meal when you cooked at my mom's cottage" he says back to me and nudges me, forgetting that he was half the reason I was still upright and I almost trip, but he grabs my elbow and steadies me.
