Third Person
Will and Mike rushed back to the theater to watch the rest of the movie. Once it was over the party threw away their trash and exited the theater, and then the mall. They were standing outside of the entrance thinking of how to end their day when suddenly Will brought up the park idea. Everyone agreed before getting on to their bikes and heading to the park.
"And we are here!" Will shouted as they halted to a stop.
"Oh my God! I have not been here in ages!" Max announced as she dropped her bike to the ground. The party dropped their bikes aswell.
"Well? Lets go to that tree over there! I heard it is a great climbing spot." Will said, winking to Mike. Mike smiled back.
"Me and El have to cover something real quick. We will be there in five minutes." Mike said looking to the girl. She looked at him confused, but caught on,
The rest of the party nodded and walked to the giant tree, while Mike took El to the shade of another smaller tree.
"El...I don't know how to tell you this, so I'll try to say it in the easiest way possible." Mike said sighing.
"Go on?" El said, crossing her arms and smiling.
"El...you're a great, smart, amazing person, and I love that...but I don't think this is going to work." Mike said, looking up to the girl.
El snickered. Mike looked at her confused.
"You're not upset?" Mike asked.
"No Mike! I'm not upset." She said, smiling. She signed before explaining. "I saw it coming, Mike. Ever since a few days ago." She said.
"Then why did you keep being all touchy with me?" Mike asked.
"I didn't want the party to suspect anything, especially Max. She would go wild over any type of drama."
"Oh thank the lord. I didn't want to hurt you!" Mike said, chuckling.
"Friends?" El asked, putting out her hand.
"Friends." Mike said, putting his hand into El's and shaking it.
"Let's go back to the party. They are probably wondering what is taking us longer than five minutes." El said.
Mike nodded before walking to the giant tree the party was climbing.
Mike's POV
"Woah, this thing is giant!" I yelled from the base of the tree. Max was at the very top, swinging her legs as she sat on a fat branch. Lucas and Dustin were closest to the ground, still climbing and Will was close to Max.
I looked around the tree searching for a starting point. I finally found a branch close to the ground, thick enough to hold me. I walked up to it, wrapped my arms around it, and began to climb. Lucas, Dustin, and Will were now at Max, sitting on the branch she was on. El began to climb close behind me.
"Watch out for that branch!" Dustin yelled, pointing to a weak, burnt part of the tree.
"I will!" Me and El both yelled on cue. I arrived at the burnt part of the tree and looked for another branch that was sturdy enough for me to climb on. I couldn't find one, so I decided to just carefully step onto the burnt branch to get up.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Max asked, as I placed my right foot onto the burnt branch.
"I couldn't find any other branch to climb on, so I'm just going to carefully climb this one." I said, placing both of my feet onto the branch. I successfully climbed the rest of the tree to the area where the rest of the party was and sat down onto another branch beside theirs. El did the same.
