I stood outside the door with my jaw touching the floor for about ten minutes, just staring in the direction the maid, Cecilia, had run off to. What the hell? You don't just tell a stranger something like that, then run off like its nothing unusual?

Oh no. Oh HELL no. I have to do something about this. I can't just walk into a stranger's room!

I looked around the corridor then dropped the vile items on the floor next to his door, then walked back to the staircase. I needed to find someone and understand what on earth I was doing here and why I was instructed to go into a strangers room. I decided I might as well ask around for a room of my own since I knew I'd be stuck in this place for a while.

I walked down the staircase and turned right, walking straight ahead. I realized I had reached to some sort of a dining area, with a grande golden, etiquette dining table sitting in the centre with chairs around it. I walked pass it, and entered another room, which was the kitchen I soon realized. It completely contradicted the dining area. It was so modern, with white marble counter tops shaped like a U in front of me. On the right end of the counter were four black stool chairs, resembling the ones you'd see at a bar. The shelves of the counters against the wall were covered with smoky sliding doors, and on the counter tops were numerous devices, electronic glow-in-the-dark kettles to black glossy microwave. Oh wow, I thought to myself. I'd kill to own a kitchen like this.

I stepped into the centre of the kitchen, looking around for people in sight. I decided that there was no one in here, so I might as well search for some food. I was really hungry from all the crap I'd been through for the past God knows how many hours. I opened shelf by shelf to search for snacks, and thankfully found a packet of Famous Amos cookies and ripped it open and popped one in my mouth. I was about to hungrily stuff in another one, when I heard the sound of light footsteps stop behind me.

I felt a soft tap on my shoulder, making me shriek so hard that I dropped the bag of cookies. I whipped my body around, preparing myself in a battle stance. I was startled to see a young girl with brown hair and blue eyes, who looked about my age, staring at me then the bag of cookies questionably. She had a maid's outfit on.

"What are you doing in here, Your Highness?" she asked, now sounding like a 15 year old girl. My left eyebrow shot up.

"First of all, don't call me that. My name's Mia, okay?" I said rudely. "And I'm here because I was hungry, isn't that obvious?"  I wanted to see if she was a threat to me or not. She quickly looked down in fear, clearly afraid of what I'd do to her. She seemed harmless.

"I'm sorry Yo- I mean, Mia. I didn't mean to upset you." She said truthfully. I looked at her for a few seconds. I could trust her. She suddenly scurried towards me and in an attempt to bend down to pick up my bag of cookies, she dabbed me in my abdomen. I crouched forward with a loud 'oof' and took a few deep breaths. Her eyes immediately looked up at me with fear, and she took several steps back.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry ma'am! I-I-I didn't m-mean to-"

"It's fine." I gave an A-ok sign with my hand and rubbed my belly with the other hand. "Say, do you happen to know if there's any extra room in this place? I really need to use the bathroom. I feel like I haven't showered in ages."

"Oh um you could use the washroom in Sir Arthur's bedroom. I can lead you to his ro-" So that's what his name was.

"No. I specifically asked you if there's an extra bedroom for me to stay in. Like a guest room. I'm not sharing anything with anyone in this place." I replied a bit sternly.
