Blue Roses
Summary: Yuri is an old cat gifted to Seungmin by his grandfather. One night before the performance, he received a call from his family that his cat died. Seungmin bursts into tears startling the members.

"Are you done with your makeup Minnie?" Chan asks him after seeing him busy on his phone and seems to be lost in the world.
"Oh, not yet hyung. You can go first." Seungmin eyes are trained on his phone and just answers him half-heartedly. He was frowning hard because his sister texted him about an emergency, he asked her what it was but didn't reply to him for minutes now. He was nervous as hell, with sweaty hands and quivering eyes, Seungmin kept texting her, not wanting to cause irrational panic himself before the performance. Chan nodded and happily left him alone.
Seungmin texted his mom and his parent assistant Mr. Lee who was in the emergency and a reply came for at least a second.

Seungmin could feel his face run cold, he quickly stood up and went outside, his members didn't notice his distress and ignored Seungmin's leaving the waiting room. His feet are heavy while marching to the nearest emergency exit. He opens the door and steps near the stairs before clicking the call button.
"Mr. Lee?" Seungmin calls, his voice raspy with lips quivering from tension.
"Seungmin-ah, I'm sorry but Yuri has passed away."
"W-What? That's... What happened? Noona doesn't respond to me. Yuri is not sick, hyung!"
"Calm down, Seungmin-ah. The vet doctor says she died naturally because she was old."
Seungmin pressed his lips together, trying so hard not to cry. Yuri is his baby. It has been his cat since he was four years old. It was a gift from his grandfather. Yuri is a stray cat and got saved by his grandpa in winter. He gave him to Seungmin and the four-year-old took care of the kitten and nursed her after the vet told him what to do because, at that time, Yuri was sick and needed attention. Seungmin loved the kitten with all his heart and was keeping her a secret even for his members because Yuri is his and wanted her to be his only baby. When he is home, the cat will go to his room and cuddle with Seungmin. It has always been his source of comfort. Yuri is his cat and his happiness.
He couldn't breathe, Mr. Lee told him that he will fetch Seungmin after his schedule and he will inform his sister who was the one who took Yuri to the vet that he already knows what happened. He thanked the assistant and ended the call.
He swallowed the lump in his throat, his eyes are bloodshot because he feels hollow and sorrowful. He breathes harder trying so hard to calm his convulsing heart. Seungmin feels crap, the pain in his chest only highlighted as the minutes passed. He wanted to punch the wall or run outside so the ache would change to numbness. Seungmin mourns his cat... His baby, his best friend... He bit his lips, it was his tenth time exhaling trying to control his shivering. He needed to pull himself together. It was his pet that died but his job never let him grieve right now. He needs to perform happily and smile like he used to. The fans are looking forward to his voice, the negative emotions will only worry them. Seungmin wipes the tear that manages to leave in his heated eyes. He lets out an exasperated sigh before going back.
