Birejyet - the universal language of humans in the continent of Tjarma
Breidye - a language developed by the Mayaware patterned after the human language, Birejyet. This is just a dumbed down version of the human language.
Cani - fermented wine made from human blood, mud, and often accented with human eyeballs (i know, gross. eugh.)
Charbi - a thorny succulent known for its bright red flowers that can be cooked
Darpeh - a well-known curse word in Ser-Djare and is the in-world equivalent of "fuck"
Deshet - a fern-like plant known to be an allergen to most Mayawares
Feretu - the goddess of death, the moon, and the birds; she is characterized as a bird goddess. She is worshiped by the Mayaware.
Fesel - a type of bird that resembles a chicken but has four legs with ultra-sharp claws
Field of Bells - the mythological afterlife for those who remained pure; sometimes called Fields of Topt
Great Shadow - the first upheaval that signaled the beginning of the Mayawarean conquest of Rathome
Gurep root - a root crop growing in the desert and is a known staple food for the human villages
Haqtep - the god of nature, rocks, and demons. He is characterized as a snake god and is mainly worshiped by the Mayaware.
Huurshe - an ore that is said to pierce through Mayaware skin and transform their puru back into its unadulterated state
Iren-Washep - the kingdom established by the Mayaware. Literally means "Great Kingdom" in Breidye.
Juni - a type of plant known for its strong fibers when harvested; a known material for making textile
Khak-haufre - a poison deadly to both humans and Mayaware; found in nature in several medicinal plants and pests
Larqet - the god of war, fire, and justice. He is mainly worshiped by the humans in various communities.
Maatsek - a type of plant that when mixed with fesel broth could change the scent of a person to the Mayaware
Mayaware - a race of shape-shifting demons whose origins are unknown. They are divided into two races—one which takes the form of mammals and the other of reptiles, mostly snakes.
Nakti - a term used to define gold nuggets that Mayawares use as currency
Opkher - the god of the sun and fire; characterized as a ball of puru. It is worshiped mostly by Mayaware and they believe it is the energy that burns in the sky every day.
Palthe - a type of jug used for storing and transporting water. It usually stands to half a human's height and is slim.
Puru - the energy of a sentient being, in other texts, it's referred to as "magic"
Qer - the god of hunt, survival, and strength. He is mostly worshiped in the human communities as the patrod god for tutelage.
Rathome - the "unconquered lands" which is composed of the other territories in Tjarma outside Ser-Tehra and Ser-Djare as of the time the story takes place.
Ristep - the god of death, the afterlife, and of boat-making and is mostly worshiped by humans.
Ser-Djare - one of the conquered territories to the north of Tjarma and is the second territory to fall after Ser-Tehra
Ser-Ib - the territory of merchants and traders; one of the unconquered territories in Tjarma that lies at the eastern end of the continent.
Ser-Methon - one of the unconquered territories in Tjarma that lies east of Ser-Tehra
Ser-Neqhep - one of the unconquered territories in Tjarma that lies southeast of Ser-Djare
Ser-Tehra - one of the conquered territories that lies south of Ser-Djare and is considered the birthplace of the demons as it is the first territory that fell.
Setene - the livelihoodterritories of the Mayaware. This is composed mostly of the lands of Ser-Djare eand some from Ser-Tehra. This is where most of the production of food and stuff is performed.
Simela - the river passing through Berheqt
Sinn suphrei - an honorific in High Breidye that means "revered one"
Sufret - a type of herb that has a savory smell and taste; used to flavor tea and coffee
Takfakhte - a term in Birejyet that loosely translates to "son of a bitch".
Tarqwet - the goddess of magic and mischief; characterized as a human god. She is mostly shunned by the Mayawares but belonged to their pantheon, nonetheless.
Tjarma - the name of the continent where the sotry takes place.
Topt - the goddess of birds, moon, and nature; she is known to be the one ushering the souls of the dead to the Field of Bells
Wershe - a type of medicinal flower that is known for its smell resembling rotting corpses.
Zadi - a type of wine made in Ser-Djare; used in funeral rites and remembrance ceremonies to honor the dead
Zowere - a type of medicinal plant which numbs the senses; only works in Mayawares.
