The bell for lunch rang and everyone excitedly packed their math books away and raced to the door. Anything to miss any homework assignments. The lunch hall always gets very busy so unlike everyone else, this was Julie's least favourite part of the day. In the bustle to get into the queue, Julie managed to find a spare table for her and Zigs. 10 minutes later, her and Zigs were sitting down eating sandwiches and talking about after school. Julie was going round Zigs' house on Friday and she always liked to know what the were doing.
Zigs was just in the middle of telling Julie what an upside down cake was when Fran and Rochelle came over. Rochelle is Fran'd best friend who rarely sat with Julie and Zigs before she met Fran.
The two of them pulled a chair up each, and started eating lasagna with plastic forks.
Julie had really wanted some alone time with Zigs before their sleepover but she guessed Fran had other plans.
The two of them decided to just leave Fran and Rochelle and go to the library instead. The library was one of Julie's favourite places because it was quite and she loved reading.
They were half way down the English corridor when Ben walked past them and gave Julie a small but noticeable smile. Julie couldn't help but stare. And she carried on staring until she walked into a wall at the end of the corridor.
"Well that's going to leave a bruise isn't it!"
