Forgiveness

We'd gotten to San Francisco, and here we are once again with a new place. It's a bit scary here, I've seen multiple homeless people, it's shady, and I hope this isn't where he lives.

"You live here?" I ask with a quiet voice. "No, I live a few miles away. Just another town to drive through." He says back. I go quiet again, still upset from earlier.

"So you finally talk to me after hours, to make sure I'm not living in a ghetto place, and then go quiet? I don't understand why you're so mad at me, what did I do?" He says with an attitude

"You don't know what you did? You implied that I treat you like a dog that I drag around on a leash!" I shoot back. He sighs, and begins to talk "I didn't mean that. I was upset that my mom didn't like you, and I know it sounds like a dumb excuse but it's the truth. I wasn't thinking." He explains with a soft tone, but I turn from him

"Come on Mari, I'm trying to apologize for my actions" I'm just being rude at this point, but, I'll take advantage of this situation.

"I'll accept it under one condition" I say with my head still turned. "And what's that?" "You have to bake me a cake." I say sternly. "You aren't being serious." "Do you want me to forgive you?" I look at him intently. "Alright, alright!-" He pulls his hands up in defense "-I'll make you a cake. You forgive me?" He chuckles out, putting his hands back on the wheel

"Yes. I'm sorry for how I reacted too." I reply "You don't need to apologize, it was all me, it's like a chain reaction which I started." He assures me. I smile at him and grab his hand, holding it firmly between us resting on the center console.

I'm glad we made up, it only took 7 hours, maybe 9.

A/N

   Short chapter! End of school is so close, we haven't been doing anything in class so I thought why not write chapters. Today in class I wrote Chapter 18-19 including this one and started on 20 but it's taking more than one page. Once I publish this I'll begin typing in chapter 19. Hope you enjoy!!
