cherry.
"so you're — you're not a fed?"
aimee pulled the roll of duct tape from billy's car, first gesturing for sandy to get in the backseat. she gave aimee a look after giving the car a quick glance but didn't push it further, getting in the car.
"you really thought they were feds? the british invasion walks into where you work, flashes you a badge and you think they're feds?" sandy asked hughie, slowly and hesitantly getting into the car.
"hands and feet." aimee grabbed her wrists, taping them together before doing the same to her ankles. "look, it's not our fault you americans aren't exactly the brightest crayons in the box."
billy was getting anxious now, sirens nearing the scene as the other three argued about that night's events. "do you hear that? that's the old bill. so unless you want to explain why you've got america's favorite invisible wanker dead on the floor, give us a fucking hand, will ya?"
sandy tried to get comfortable in what space was actually in billy's backseat, pulling her feet in from where they were hanging out the door. "is this really necessarily?"
aimee opened the trunk of the car before getting in next to sandy, pushing whatever her brother had thrown in the backseat down onto the car floor. "either this or you end up in the boot with your boyfriend. doubt you'd appreciate being stuck back there with a naked dead man. or even a naked living man."
"i'd much rather be with the naked dead or living man than in this toxic wasteland the big guy calls a car."
billy walked past, carrying one end of translucent while hughie carried the other. "make sure you get her mouth too, yeah? she's got too much to say."
aimee lifted the roll of tape again and sandy gave her a look before she dropped the tape with a sigh. "okay, look ... this can be easier than it is. but just try not to piss him off while he's already pissed off. then we can all be happy. you not so much."
"great. don't poke the bear that's already been poked. got it."
the trunk slammed shut from behind them and aimee was pulling the car door closed as billy and hughie finally got in, pulling off from the scene. the drive was mostly silent until that silence had begun to be too much. a lot had happened in a short time and none of them wanted to be lost in their thoughts.
"all right, listen, i have worked for the feds. i've worked for loads of people. i'm what you might call an independent contractor. you got a problem, you call me, i solve the problem. and aimee here, my sister, she's got quite a bit of experience under her belt. mi6, cia, pretty much the whole fucking alphabet. the government loves her."
hughie didn't respond, still in shock over what they'd done. that was until noise came from the trunk of the car. he turned back slowly, looking back towards where it was coming from. "what is that?"
billy turned back next, aimee and sandy doing the same. "that's a problem."
the two women glanced at each other for a moment before staring straight ahead and trying to ignore the pounding. sandy didn't want to admit she was afraid, but she was. this kind of stuff only happened in her movies.
"oh, thank fuck, he's alive. yes, yes, he's alive! okay, pull over."
sandy's eyes widened and she turned back towards the trunk again. "what? are you insane? there's — there are police! and ... you're gonna be in so much shit! i'm gonna be in so much shit —"
hughie turned to speak to her before billy cut him off, eyes back on the road. "no, no, no, hughie. you don't fucking get it."
"pull the car over." hughie was getting frantic now, though there wasn't much calm when you'd kidnapped one of the seven.
