chapter 15

i woke up so tired for some reason and got ready for school.

when i got there, i surprisingly saw zara in the halls and waved to her. she immediately saw me and waved back.

she then ran up to me and squealed. "what period do you have first?"

"nooooo!" i whined. "math with mr. rivera"

"gosh i hate him. he can't even teach."

"real." i respond, and i see jaden's friend, ethan, walk up to me.

"aurelia, can i ask you a question?" he says with a straight face, hopefully nothing serious.

zara steps back and comments, "i'll meet you at lunch aurelia. good luck!?" she says rotating her thumps not knowing if this is good or bad.

"has jaden talked to you or communicated with you in the past day or two?" he asks.

this is really suspicious. i nod cautiously.

"really? like what?"

"playing me. the usual that he does to everyone." i respond with an obvious tone.

"be more specific." he replies.

"is this like an interview or something?" i ask really confused.

"no, just respond."

"flirting with me, grabbing my hips and waist, demanding that i should be at his next baseball game." i say quoting what he told me about his game.

"interesting.." ethan trails off.

"why?"

"i kinda made a bet with him and-" he starts and i cut him off.

"a bet, yeah of course. it's either he's playing me or a stupid bet. oh yeah? well whatever bet you fuckers are doing i'm not participating in. cross me out of your list." i say crossing my arms, pissed.

"dude- bru- can you let me finish?" ethan stutters giving me the same attitude.

"he said he didn't want to participate. so why is he doing this?" he recalls.

"i don't know, ask him. you're his friend, aren't you?"

"i should, good idea." he says about to run off but i stop him, "can you elaborate on this bet?" i ask emphasizing bet.

"i challenged him to him rizzing up 10 girls and to have a relationship that can last more than 3 months." he answers.

"what.. why?"

"cause he pulls everyone. and his longest relationship with 2 months with ava, and his relationships usually last like 4 days if you're lucky."

"what does he get if he wins?" i ask, taking a sip out of my water.

"$100." ethan responds.

i spit out my water slightly. "if you gave me $50 i would do that. and he rejected it?"

"yeah!"

"you know what would be funny? if i got that money instead. i wonder how he would react." i ask thinking out loud.

"yeah. i can imagine him gaslighting me." ethan agrees with me and we both just think aloud.

"really? he does that to everyone? even his friends?" i ask surprised. i thought he didn't treat everyone badly.

"yeah. that's how he is."

"sucks. do you have the $100 on you right now?" i bring that back up again.
