chapter 16

aurelia's pov

as i was walking to last period, ethan pulled me aside. "you wanna skip? also i stole my sisters makeup and it's expensive so do you want me to lend you it?" he says close to my face.

"okay first of all i wasn't expecting that. and i wasn't expecting us to start today. but then again you need to start somewhere.. sure i guess we can skip i'll just ask to go to the nurse." i respond and push his face back a little.

he nods and lets go of my shoulders. i make my way to the biology classroom and let the teacher know that my stomach hurts and i'll be at the nurse.

ethan's waiting for me a couple feet away from the classroom and we go to a locker room. "wait.. ethan what locker room is this?" i ask.

"women's lacrosse." he responds as he takes out a bunch of super pricey makeup i would see the popular girls gatekeep at sephora. "damn. how much money does your sister have?" i ask in amazement.

"she's a senior. makes decent about of money. she's gonna kill me once she finds out, but it's okay cause i'll excuse my way out of it." he says attempting to open the dior blush.

"should i apply this to you know? or.." he asks.

"i don't have softball today so sure. but how am i gonna get jaden's attention if school's over in literally like a couple minutes. he probably won't notice me." i answer.

"i don't know just walk around or watch baseball practice going on."

"when's it at?" i ask.

"6:30" he responds.

the bell then rings, and i hear a bunch of stomping noises toward our direction.

a bunch of girls come in the locker room, and it reveals it to us. their jaws drop.

and i see a gorgeous girl on her phone come out of the crowd.

"ethan.. WHAT THE FUCK?" she then yells after spotting her makeup.

"fuck i'm so stupid my sister players lacrosse." he says and i slap my palm against my face.

all the other senior girls back up and say, "let us know when you handle your family crisis."

"why'd you steal this?" she asks frustrated. "do you now expensive this is?"

she then looks at me and points, "is she your girlfriend?"

"no, we're kinda doing this glow up thing." he says looking at the ground.

"huh?" she makes a face.

"but calm down madelyn, we won't use it all. and she's trying to get back this boy for playing her and making rumors about her and stuff." he explains.

"ohhh. who?" she asks. i observe her and she's so gorgeous. she also looks natural, so i don't get why she needs this makeup.

ethan bites his lip nervously and remains having eye contact with his sister.

"ethan." she demands.

"jaden." he spits out.

"what? isn't he your friend though?" she asks.

"yeah, but still. he's been getting on my nerves lately."

"he's a dick. he disrespects girls he's not attracted to." i add.

she has an understanding look on her face and then asks me, "what's your name?"

"aurelia." i respond smiling.

she then says, "i can help you guys if you want. i had a really big glow up, just saying." she smiles.

ethan scoffs and says, "dude you got your braces and glasses off"

"shut up." she swears at him and turns to me. "you can use my makeup. i'll let you know a good routine i stuck too for makeup and just a natural look. but not right now, i need to get ready for lacrosse. also you guys need to do this in the bathroom cause my teammates are waiting."

"thank you!" i say.

ethan and i move to the bathroom and before he applies anything he says, "i watch my sister do this sometimes in the car so i should be good." and he smiles with his dimples.

when he was applying the drunk elephant bronzing drops, i just took quick glances at him. he was actually cute. he had dimples, straight white teeth, he wore bracelets, hazel brown eyes with long eyelashes tan, had lots of freckles, and fluffy brown hair. he was tall as well. but i'm supposed to be playing jaden.

when he finished my makeup i looked in the mirror and it looked really good. i smiled at him and he smiled back.

"now, go impress jaden i guess." he laughs and i laugh back.

we walk out together and wave each other goodbye. ethan goes up to jaden and they talk.

i look at jaden for a second but he's already staring at me. i really don't look that different. maybe ethan did my makeup wrong?

jaden says goodbye to his friends and proceeds to go home.
