Stake of Love

“ Hell is empty and all the devils are here! ” — The Tempest, Act I, Scene II

It was a dark windy night. There was a new moon that night and it was completely impossible to see around. He was passing by the forest that night as he wanted to take some fresh air.

As he was walking, he felt a presence near him. Having the paranoid feeling, he turned around just to see nothing so he continued walking unbotheredly.

"Can it be an another vampire? But I'm the only one here!" He thought, quite confused.

The wind hit his beautiful face which was now looking much paler than usual with fear because of the mysterious being wandering near him. Then, he suddenly saw a light shimmering and he approached to it, it was a fire.

"There is no one here, who made this?" He wondered with curiousity piling up in him. When he approached to the fire, he saw her face. The face of his former soulmate that he lost.

"The one who plays with fire, always burns. Don't approach it."

"Why? Why were you the one to go? Why you had to leave me?" He asked one after another. Seeing her face was now giving him pain and causing him to regret though he knew very well that he couldn't able to save her even if he tried his best back then.

"They were going to come for you and they were going to hurt you, Heeseung... I had no other choice but to stay and save you even if that meant sacrificing myself. Now we both are cursed with eternity, don't we? You're cursed with eternal stay and I got cursed with eternal leave.."

"I felt that someone was chasing me when I came here, were it you?" He asked her feeling uneasy as he told those to her. She just nodded her head.

"I sometimes come to check on you, haven't left fully. This place is so empty, Heeseung, there is literally no one here."

"I don't want to believe the fact that I've lost you forever, Scarlett..... I want to see you one more time before you go, want to hug you for one last time."

The spectre in the fire turned to a human form, suddenly as lively as she was used to be when she was alive. She approached him and hugged him, crying in his arms.

"I should've never left you, even to protect you...... I promised to be always by your side and be your sheild but I couldn't even manage to do that.... Now look at me, I'm just a powerless soul right now..."

He handed her a bunch of red flowers, they were as red as the vital liquid running through his veins. "They say, they are for only one use, but can bring anyone who's lost...."

She looked at the flowers than to him, her face now had a sad expression. She wanted to be with him, by his side but she knew that she was going to be sad when she returns back.

"If you think that you're going to be sad, let it be. I'm ready to become sad with you." He said, looking at her and then holding her face with his hands. Tears started to fall from her eyes and she collapsed on the ground.

She then looked at the pitch black sky and she begged for a second chance just to be with him. "I just need one more chance, please one more chance......... I don't want our destiny to be like this......... Just one more chance......."

Then a light appeared on her and she changed, she fell on the ground and closed her eyes, she laid on the ground like that for a couple of minutes.

"I will but you'll be cursed with the eternal stay, can't go back here now even if you want to." Was the reply she get. Then, she woke up with her eyes shining with red crimson.

"My destiny, let's enjoy our stay here for eternity, I love you..."

"I love you too."

Just then, suddenly a young boy appeared out of nowhere and approached Heeseung. Whispering in his ear, "What's she doing here? Is she even on our side, from one of us?" he said. The older one nodded, "Just became a one." The younger one's expression turned to a shocked one.

"Don't say that you brought her back, please!" After saying these and seeing the older one's facial expression, horror fell in him. "What were you thinking? Hyung do you have any idea about how dangerous is the thing you've done?"

"I'm sorry but I was just tired of living in regret for all the time even though I knew I wasn't guilty!" He then left, looking right at his feet with regret for one more time.

"All the evil are here..... Goodbye, my love............ This time, for forever................" Was the last thing they both heard her saying before she shattered with the stake and vanished in the thin air.

"This was for his own good, even if this meant hurting him..." Said the younger one and left, feeling sad for the thing he had done just to save the one he sees as his older brother.
