it was the next morning, the morning after we played the orpheum. i woke up really early. i checked the clock that julie left with us a few days ago. great, four o'clock in the morning. i got up from the couch and got a energy drink from the mini fridge. i headed outside and opened the can. the dark blue color in the sky faded as the sun rose. i took a sip from the drink and heard a shriek.

"omg! who are you!?" i turned and saw ray with luggages and suitcases

"wait.. aren't you from julie's band?"

"you can see me?"

"yes, i can"

"omg, i gotta tell luke and alex" ray stared at me, confused and he was left speechless. i cleared my throat and breathed

"i am part of julie's band, i'm the bassist"

"what are you doing here?"

"oh.." i couldn't think of an answer, even a lie! it was four in the morning! i can't think straight

"we just wanted to visit her and have a reunion??"

"didn't you just meet her yesterday?" oh god, i'm such a bad liar

"yeah, as holograms.. now, we are human beings..!"

"do you have a place to stay?"

"i was wondering if you'd allow me and the rest to stay here.. in the studio"

"ok, you have my permission" i smiled and hugged ray, we've been buddies for a long time! well, he doesn't know that.. but still! i let go and bowed as i watched his frown curve into a smile

"well, stay as long as you want.. and tell julie i said goodbye? i'm heading to lakewood for a photoshoot"

"ok! have a safe flight!"

i waved goodbye and entered the studio. i still had the drink in my hand and took another sip. then, there was a sniff. i looked up at the loft.

"alex?"

"not alex.." i was shocked to hear luke's voice instead if alex's. luke doesn't usually cry, not like how much alex cries. i went up the ladder seeing luke with his hands on his head, shaking rapidly

"wanna talk about it..?"

"not here, i don't wanna wake alex up"

"we can always head to the backyard!"

"sure.."

we headed to the backyard and sat on the picnic mat that was set nicely on the grass. luke sniffed and i was concerned

"what's up?"

"my parents.. they saw me! i don't know how or why, but they saw me.. and wrapped me in their arms"

"isn't that a good thing?" luke glared at me and gave me an 'are you serious' look. i backed up mouthing sorry

"what i meant to say was how did you feel about that?"

"how am i supposed to feel?"

"i don't know! you're the one feeling!" i looked at luke who had a tinted smile of his face

"ok, i felt safe in their arms.. it was nice finally being with them"

"so what was your explanation?? like, the news said we died, then your parents saw you alive and well! oh and they saw you as a seventeen year old, won't they suspect that?"

"i didn't think of that.. you know, you're really not that stupid" i opened my mouth to protest but just kept silent

"you gonna say something?"

"nope"

"ok"

it fell silent. i stared at luke and his hazel brown eyes that shined bright at the sun's beam.

"we didn't get to that part actually.."

"cool"

"mhm, cool"

i stared at the sky, the orange and pink colors that scattered. i turned to luke who had red puffy cheeks, still crying. he yawned and fell asleep on my lap. my stomach did a whirl. i had feelings for luke, i know i did! but, there was one problem, luke likes julie. i put my feelings aside and played with his hair. i know now for sure, he was the one i like.
