As the morning sun cast its gentle glow over their workplace, Layla and Sarah greeted each other with warm smiles and exchanged pleasantries.
"Good morning, Sarah! How was your weekend?" Layla inquired, her voice filled with genuine curiosity.
"Good morning, Layla! It was great, thank you. Went to church, as usual. How about yours?" Sarah replied, returning the friendly gesture.
Layla's face brightened as she recounted her weekend activities. "Alhamdulillah, it was wonderful. I had some quality time with my family, for once."
Sarah smiled politely. "Ah, that's nice, Layla."
Layla nodded, unable to keep herself from smiling at her lovely friend.
Sarah leaned back, a studying her friend for a moment, a soft smile still lingering on her face. "We should probably start getting on with work, you know."
Layla rolled her eyes teasingly, chuckling. "Yeah, yeah, of course."
As they returned to their workstations, a sense of tranquility lingered in the air. Their morning conversation, despite it's meaningless nature, filled Layla's heart with joy, as she felt a desire to know her friend better swelling inside of her.
