Chapter 25

Skeppy POV

I feel even more drowsy when I wake up, sitting in what looks like a sort of waiting room.

There are white walls and furniture, all lit up by glowing orbs of light on the ceiling, making the whole room blinding in my groggy state.

Sitting across from me are the three angels who found me on Earth: Sapnap, Antfrost, and Velvet.

Velvet and Ant are asleep, leaning on each other for support. Sapnap, meanwhile, is watching me closely.

Seeing I'm now up, he clears his throat meaningfully. "Good morning, I hope you slept well."

I nod, squinting my eyes. "Could I have some water, please?"

As if it's the biggest hassle known to Heaven, Sapnap lets out a heavy sigh and shakes Velvet awake.

"He wants water, don't fall asleep again, he needs to be kept a close eye on."

Velvet salutes with a lazy smile before his eyes turn to me.

"Good to see you awake, I almost thought Sapnap overdosed you."

"You guys drugged me?!"

Looking confused at my surprise, Velvet frowns. "Well, yeah. Most angels put up quite the fight when being arrested, so it's just how we move you, no biggie."

I look around a bit more carefully. "Speaking of, where are we?"

"Holding cell, you'll stay here until it's time for your court hearing, where XD will determine your punishment. Sapnap, Ant, and I also have to stay since we're your assigned guards."

Sapnap returns to the room with my water, handing it to me before returning to his seat beside the other two guards.

I chug the glass in one gulp and wipe my face. "Thank you."

Turning back to Velvet, I ask, "How long will we be here?" 

He shrugs. "I know as much as you, but it won't be more than a day or two. Could even be in a few hours. Make yourself comfortable." 

"Aren't you guys supposed to be more on alert? What if I try to escape?" I motion to Antfrost, who is still asleep in Velvet's lap. 

Letting out a low, husky laugh, Sapnap smirks. "You won't escape, and I doubt you'll even try." 

Despite wanting to throw a snarky comment right back at him, I don't really have enough energy for any type of arguing. 

Sleep is something I desperately need right now, but every time I close my eyes, I can only see Bad: struggling and broken with a tearstained face and blood smeared across his cheeks. 

I wonder what he's actually doing right now. Hopefully, he's safely at home in the comfort of his bed, but I doubt that. 

I hear a soft muttering, and crack my eyes open. I didn't even realize I was asleep, but at least I feel much more refreshed now. Due to being an angel, most of my cuts and bruises have already healed completely, and the ones that haven't don't hurt anymore. 

Antfrost is now wide awake, and he looks at me with a playful smile. "You're awake. We were just going to get you, it's time for your trial." 

I stand up, following behind the three warriors as we walk to the court chambers. It's a place similar in decor to the rest of the palace. 

White walls and stained glass windows that paint rainbows around the room. Gold and green tapestries hang from the ceiling, displaying a deep forest greed 'XD'.
