"Saylene! Do you have all your things packed and ready to go?" Mrs. Collins yells up the stairs. Since I'm one of the older girls here I get my own room. This foster home only goes to the age of 13. Thank god I'm leaving now so I don't have to move to another foster home next year!

I don't have to even think of that anymore! Today Im going home with my foster father. He says for the first couple of days he will get to know me and then I'll have to start stiffening up and following some rules. I don't even care about that! I'm just glad that I'm going to have a dad.

I finish packing the items I left out until the last minute because I didn't want to pack them away yet. My father is supposed to be here at noon. I keep looking at the clock so the day seems to go way slow!

I'm so happy when the hour hand hits 11! Even though there's an hour left here I should not be celebrating, I should be saying goodbye to my not-so-friends, friends. I don't want to! I haven't even told them I'm leaving and I practically spent the last two months in my room thinking about it and they haven't even came to say hi or to ask what was up! That's why I don't care about saying goodbye. They might never even notice!

I start counting down the minutes! I'm so excited! I can't help but to think if I'm supposed to be nervous, am I?

I hurry down to Felisha, my cook here but she's more a friend than anyone else. I ask if I could have a snack because my stomach is full of butterflies. She hands me a granola bar and a couple to go so in case I need them.. I might..

Anyways, I walk over to her and give her a big hug.

"I'll miss you. Your so kind to me and you've been a friend forever." I say.

"Hey your my friend forever. Even though we're going to be miles from each other we can still talk. Here." She hands me an envelope decorated with lovely stickers and drawings. I know that Felisha drew the drawings because she has a special curly drawing method.

"I'll open it later, when I feel I need a piece of this place." I say.

"Of course." Felisha says with a happy tone. "You'd better go you have only 15 more minutes! I'll try to come see you goodbye!"

I give her another quick hug and slip away from her. I then go down to Mrs. Collins where I ask her if I could leave quietly. Mrs. Collins always understood me. She knows I don't really get along with any of the girls here and that I could care less to leave with everyone shouting false, 'miss you already's' and 'we'll talk soon's'!

Mrs. Collins tells me to go get my in the car bag. The rest of my bags have already been carpooled to the front entrance.

As I walk in my room, well my not-so-room anymore room I look around trying to memorize the place that told me so much of myself. I leave one thing and one thing only on the wall, a single piece of paper with horizontal lines running along the whole width. On that piece of paper my whole experience here, my thoughts and opinions lay on that paper. I leave it here for the next person to walk in here to find it and if there anything like me they will take my words of advice.

"Saylene! Your foster father is here! Make sure you have everything!" She yells up the stairs as I take one last look around my room and walk out with a smile and good memories.

I walk up to the front desk and my foster father talks to Mrs. Collins as I look at his car, rather a truck. Those high springed tires and mud protecters that line the interior, something tells me I'm heading to the country.
