Adam's POV

Friday night right after the album has debuted and I'm lapping up every minute of it. I'm beaming with joy at the album. I'm so proud of the final results and all the good reviews about it. So, I'm here to celebrate with friends at a bar; drinking, sharing stories and all in all enjoy ourselves. I took a sip of my scotch and tried to join in on the conversation. But I can't help but focus on the cute couple in the corner. It's been awhile since Sauli and I broke up. I've gotten over it completely, and thank God we are still good friends but...I don't know. I like being single and late night hook ups are great. But I do slightly miss having someone in my life. It's better not to dwell on it.

"To the best fucking album on the planet!" Tommy slurred, a little drunk already, raising his glass in a toast. I giggled as we all joined in a toast, downing the rest of my drink. Out of the corner of my eye I thought I saw something a little...weird I guess is the best word right now. It was a guy, in a graphic tee and jacket with a beanie but I thought...for sure...he looked a little like...All of a sudden a familiar rift filled the room.

I got the need for speed and on a hot night

Pushing 150...

"You guys!" I squealed.

"I'm friends with the DJ and he promised he would play the song." Sutan said, with a smile on his face. I smiled wider. I'm pretty lucky having friends like these.

After awhile of having fun I needed to go to the bathroom. I excused myself and heading towards the men's room. I relived myself and went to wash my hands. I heard someone enter, but really didn't pay any attention to it. There was a phone ringing.

Must've came in here to get a quiet space to talk I thought.

"Hey babe...Yeah I'm having a great time at a club right now.....Yeah, I know right?.....Well anyway, how are you?.......Oh, right you have that new publishing deal..." I froze up in pure disbelief. That voice. I know that voice. It's mine. I saw the guy enter in a little more. No fucking way...

It was the same guy I saw awhile ago before my song came on. He didn't just look a little like me, but to a fucking tee. His hair was down and wearing glasses with not a single freckle, but it was me. Like looking in a mirror with different clothes.

"Is that going okay?...That's great, that really great babe... No you're not kee-" He made eye contact with me and went white as a sheet. I blinked to see if this was real.

"Uh y-yeah I'm still here. Uh, I gotta go...Yeah see you in a week...Love you too, bye." he hung up and just looked at me.

"Holy shit." I whispered.

Elliot's POV

"I'm leaving if we start dealing with a drunk." I said before entering the club. I did not want to go out tonight. Or at least not like this. I'd be down for take out dinner or a small party. But not a fucking club. I'm an extrovert but I don't deal with these types of crowded, booze filled situations. But the guys I made friends with over the past two weeks somehow Jedi mind tricked me into saying yes to this. We entered and I already feel like I want to go back to my apartment and draw. I'm a graphic artist, trying to complete my first graphic novel. I got a call about coming to LA for a big project for a couple weeks. I, of course, said yes and traveled here from my hometown in Nebraska. But now, I am starting to regret this if the guys I'm working with want to go clubbing every time we get a night off. We all ordered drinks and I got a funny look from the bar tender when I asked for a grape soda. We all found a table and started to geek out about comics. Then this song started to play. It was a good beat but had an odd voice. Well not odd but it sounded like...me. I'm no singer but it does have my voice oddly. I shrugged it off as me just hearing it wrong and went back to talking. After awhile I felt my phone vibrate. I saw it was Chloe and smiled. Chloe has been my girlfriend for about four years now. I excused myself and looked for a quiet place to talk because I really can't say no to her. I saw the bathroom and made my way towards there. I heard a guy in there already but he won't mind. Hopefully. I picked it up.

"Hey babe."

"Heeey. How are you doing? Having a good time?" I smiled at her goofy chipperness ( is that a word? I don't care.)

"Yeah I'm having a great time at a club right now."

"Seriously? You at a club?"

"Yeah, I know right?" I chuckled.

"Baby! I'm so excited you're getting out there, exploring Los Angeles. I bet you have a tan now." I laughed.

"Well anyway, how are you?"

"I'm fine. Waiting for Jean to Face Cam."

"Oh, right you have that new publishing deal." Chloe is an author, working on getting her third book published. A new agent is interested in her and she has a lot of promise. Music kept getting louder in the club so I moved in further to hear her better.

"Yeah. Right now I'm working on the new book to kill time."

"Is that going okay?" I asked.

"Great. I'm three quarters of the way done, finally."

"That's great, that really great babe." I noticed the guy was still in here. What is he doing? I casually lifted my gaze.

"Well, I should get going. Don't want to keep you from having fun."

"You're not kee-" My eyes finally focused in on the guy. I froze. He was...me. Well, not me but looked like me. Exactly. His hair was spiked with a little bit of facial hair and makeup but it was my face. Exactly my face down to a tee. How is this-

"Elliot? You still there?" I remembered I was still talking to Chloe.

"Uh y-yeah I'm still here. Uh, I gotta go." I replied, not taking my eyes off my warped mirror.

"Okay...See ya in a week."

"Yeah see you in a week."

"Love you."

"Love you too, bye." I hung up and stared at him, wanting to say something. But he beat me to it.

"Holy shit."
