CHAPTER TWELVE
"i never killed anyone!"

THE THREE GIRLS STOOD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SHRINE, the two ghostfaces surrounding them as they tried to think of ways to get out of this situation. The three of them stood back to back with bricks in their hands as the movie continued to play on the screen behind them.

"Fucking come at me already!" The three brunettes held the bricks up in the air as Sam questioned the two younger girls.

"I need you guys to be ready. Are you ready?" Liesel was quick to respond, telling her she was always ready as Sam turned to Tara, telling her to look at her. The younger girl nodded as they turned back to the two killers.

"Come on, motherfucker!" Without warning, bullets flew through the air, the killers and the girls falling to the floor or moving behind th enshrines to cover themselves. Kirby quickly came out from behind the projection screen, her gun in hand as blood trickled down her forehead.

"It's okay!" The three girls stayed close to each other, telling the woman to stay back.

"We know it's you, Kirby." The blonde woman pointed back, clearly out of breath and scared herself.

"One of them knocked me out." From the other side of the room, Detective Bailey yelled at her, telling her to stop. The woman held her gun up in fear as the three girls sighed in relief. "What are you doing?"

"Did you kill Quinn? Did you kill my daughter?" Kirby had suddenly began to tear up as Bailey glared at her, holding his gun up, pointing it at her.

"Whatever he's been saying to you, don't listen to him. He's probably the killer." Out of nowhere, one of the killers came out from behind a tarp, the man not even flinching as he shot the woman in front of him. The masked killer didn't even touch the detective as Kirby fell to the floor, a sinister smile on his lips.

"Great job." The second killer walked up behind him, the man turning to him as his smile dropped. "You could've helped some more."

"You?" The man shrugged as the three girls looked at him in confusion, their eyes wide.

"Frankly, I expected more from the three of you, well, actually more like the two of you, after what you did to us. I didn't expect much from Liesel because she was so distracted with that boyfriend of hers." The three brunettes looked at the three killers, wondering what the man meant by, 'us'. The first killer lifted their mask, a face they never thought they would see again revealing herself.

    "Quinn?"

"Hey, roomies. You didn't see that one coming, did you?" The girls stared at their supposedly dead roommate in shock, turning to the other masked killer. "But guess what, Lies? You won't be expecting this one either." The second killer brought their hand up, slowly removing their mask, almost as if they didn't want to. Her eyes widened when she saw her boyfriends face revealed from behind the mask.

"E? But the train? I was with you." Ethan didn't dare look at his girlfriend, not being able to look her in the eyes after lying for so long.

"That was me! And so was Gale... me too."

"And what about Chad and Anika?" The curly headed boy didn't look up but he answered, telling his girl that it was all his dad and Quinn.

"Yep, the pathetic idiot never had the balls to kill anyone. So I had to do it. Didn't expect it, huh?"

"Because we thought you were fucking dead!" Quinn let out a sinister chuckle, playing with the knife in her hands as Ethan kept his eyes on the floor. He had never felt so ashamed and disgusted with himself until now. He had lied to and hurt the only person he truly cared about.

"Kind of wasn't though. It was a good way to get off the suspect list."

"I made sure I was first at the scene so I could switch her body out for a fresh one. Little fake blood, a prosthetic. You'd be amazed at what a grieving father can get away with." The two kids walked around the shrine, Ethan placing his mask on the beheaded mannequin as he met eyes with Liesel.

"I'm sorry. I didn't want to." The boy had only mouthed the words to her, hoping she had understood him.

"Ethan's got your grandmothers mask, Sam. Nancy Loomis."

"I've got Stu Machers mask. He was my favorite."

"That's number three. That's two. Which leaves..." The man began to dig into his jacket, pulling out a dirt and blood covered mask. "Your fathers. This is what we've been counting down, Sam. I'm gonna need you to put it on." The man held the mask out to the older girl, only for it to get hit away.

"Fuck you! What is this? You did this as a family?"

"Eh, Ethan didn't help at all but I guess you could say that. He was too busy distracting his girlfriend. Poor Liesel, probably didn't know your boyfriend was a murderer, huh?" Ethan glared at his sister, shaking his head as he stabbed his knife into the wooden part of the shrine.

    "I've never killed anyone!"

"Understatement of the fucking century! But look, they're still not getting it." The three girls looked at the siblings, like they were trying to put two and two together.

"Look, I don't know what you believe, but I didn't commit those murders in Woodsboro. It wasn't me!"

"Oh, we know that! Of course you didn't. You think this is based on some bull shit conspiracy theory? Come on, who do you think started those rumors about you in the first place?"

"You've got to be fucking joking."
