"ELLIANA! BABY!" I heard my mothers sweet voice and my head perked up from my fetal position on the couch.
"Mom!" I cried and I spotted her come through the doorway of the house. She saw me instantaneously and sprinted for me. She brought me into a bone crushing hug and started sobbing. I was matching her and crying into her sweater.
"My baby girl, oh my. I have you back! I love you so much. So, so much baby girl" she sniffled as she started happy crying.
"Dad- he- he-trie-" I stuttered but I couldn't get the words out. She took my face in her hands and looked at me lovingly.
"It's okay. They got him. He will never touch you again" she promised and I hugged her again. Looking over her shoulder I spotted Kylan with glassy eyes behind mom.
"Kylan?" I muttered. He smiled happily and walked over to me and brought me into a hug. I wrapped my arms around his neck and his around my torso.
"My sweet brave girl. I'm so glad your safe" he sniffled, letting his tears fall.
"You came to get me" I sobbed as realisation set it.
"Of course. I'm not leaving you, sweet girl" He brought me closer and I realised that I didn't have to be afraid anymore. He wasn't like my dad. He was here to stay.
They both let me go and sat beside me on the couch. My mother was playing with my hair and Kylan was rubbing my back and holding my hand.
"Wher- where's Nick?" I asked looking around. "Did he come for me?"
It seemed I spoke to soon because in an instance I heard his voice from out the front of the house.
"Let me see her!"
"I can't let you in. Your not immediate family. You'll have to wai-"
"Fucking likely! Let me see my girl!" And he must've pushed past them because he stormed through the doorway and came up to me. Just the sight of him triggered my tears of relief. How did I have enough tears to cry this much?
"Ellie, my sunshine" he mumbled and picked me up into a bear hug. I wrapped my legs around him and he slightly swayed me. I tucked my head into his neck and was sobbing as he rubbed my back and cupped my head.
"Nick, I was so scared" I hiccuped.
"I know baby, I know. But you were so brave. You were so brave, baby" he comforted me.
I was at peace in his arms and I didn't even notice myself falling to sleep.
