chapter 23

RILEYS P.O.V.
I wasn't very close to Shawn but I felt like I needed to see him. I walked towards his room, visiting hours were almost over so I wasn't going to be able to see carter. I knocked softly on the door hoping he was awake. I heard a raspy "come in" most likely coming from Shawn. Turning the knob I stepped into the room seeing that Taylor was in here next to a sleeping Shawn. I whispered to Taylor "you can go, I'll stay with him" he nodded and got up leaving. I took Taylor's seat and reaches for shawns hand. he began to stir and he slowly woke up. "hey" he spoke in a raspy voice. "hey, how're you feeling?" I ask "fine" he responds and looks at me. "Shawn?" he's hesitant to respond "w-what?" I smiled at him "do you not like me?" he shakes his head no "I don't know you very well" he sighs. "Well tonight we're going to learn a lot about e-" I get cutoff by a rude nurse "Miss visiting hours are over" I looked at Shawn and he squeezes my hand "don't go" he whispers. "well-" I look at her name tag "Arielle I'm not going to go, Shawny boy here doesn't like to be alone in hospitals" she rolls her eyes "whatever" she grumbles and walks away. I look down at Shawn "move over fatty" I chuckle and watch as he gives me a confused look but scoots over. I climb next to him and lay on my side. "when you get your cast on make sure I'm the first to sign." I say seriously. he nods and I move his hair out of his face. he laughed as I did so and began to blush "aweeee Shawny boys blushinggggggg" I squealed. he glared at me in a joking way then said "where the hell did you get Shawny boy?" I laughed and shrugged "I don't know man" he smiled and pushed the button letting the nurse know he wanted her. she came in shortly after and gave us an annoyed look "Arielle? I would like an extra blanket please" she rolled her eyes as he spoke and she strutted away trying to show off her 25 year old 'curves'. Shawn chuckled and whispered as she came back in tossing us the blanket "she's a Thot a what? a t-h-o-t-t-i-e the type to mess around with just bout everybody" we both laughed and for a minute I forgot all about Matt as I leaned in and kissed his forehead. "Shawn?" I yawned as he looked at me "yes sleepy head?" I shook the yawn out of me "what do you want to know about me before I fall asleep" he shyly asked "does Matt make you happy?" I nod "of course" he nodded "what's you're favorite color?"
"blue" I closed my eyes still listening
"will you be my bestfriend, forever?" "definitely" I nodded and laid my head on his chest tired. he pulled the blanket up and around me. "Shawn I'm tired" I spoke quietly. "really? I couldn't tell, maybe you should go to sleep caniff" I felt his lips place themselves on my forehead. I was soon fast asleep.

SHAWN POV
Riley's phone began to ring so I answered it because she's asleep. it was Matt
"Matt she's with me......yes she's okay......she's asleep.....okay.....why're you so over protective?.......Matt she's fucking okay, so you want me to wake her up when she finally gets to sleep just so you can pick her up because you're afraid she will fall in love with me? Jesus just because she's sleeping next to me doesn't mean she's going to kiss me, she's not a player unlike you." after that I hung up frustrated. I leant down to whisper to Riley "I won't let him hurt you" there's was another knock on the door. "Arielle go away" I answered still upset about the whole 'Matt thing' Jesus I bet he's down a bitch's throat right now. "it's not Arielle" I hear a girls voice. I think 'who the fuck.' "who is it?" I ask and look down at the sleeping beauty in my arms. "g-Gabbi" is she crying? I stand up and make sure Riley looks comfortable and I open the door. "Gabbi why're you crying?" I ask as she looks up at me. "I-i" I wrap my arms around her small body. "Gabbi calm down." she nods and breathes in "how did you get in?" i ask. "I-I don't k-know" she shrugs. "Shawn I-I CHEATED on Jack with Matt...." she says. "Gabbi just go back to the hotel and go to mahoganys room. tell Johnson tomorrow. I'll talk with you tomorrow as well. I'll always be here for you. I promise." I step in to hug her as she already wraps her harms around my torso. "thank you Shawn" I hear her mumble. I leaned down to kiss her head "get some sleep princess, everything will be okay, I promise." she nods and walks out the door. I let out a sigh of frustration. I knew it. I knew he'd cheat. she's going to be so devastated. I walk back to the small bed we were sharing and I grab my phone and open up matts contact changing it from MATT ESPINOSA !1!!!1 to bastard. I sigh and climb back into the bed and kiss the petite girls forehead. "he doesn't treat you right" I say in her ear and that's the last thing I remember. The next morning I woke up to Riley poking my cheek. I groan and try to roll over, but I can't because the nurse came in last night and lifted my arm. "Rileyyyy don't do that !!!" I groan. she speaks quietly "the doctor wanted me to get you up. I won't be here for a while-" I cut her off "where are you going?" I ask trying not to sound worried. "out with Gabbi she wants to tell me something" I nod knowing Gabbi wants to tell her before Matt. I reach for her hand "come back when you're done?" she nods and gives my hand a squeeze. I smile as she leaves and the doctor enters. he speaks seriously "alright.....Shawn it's time for your cast, what color?" I respond think of Riley "blue please!" I smile.
CARTER P.O.V.
I had just woke from my coma, to see Taylor. "has Riley been by?" I ask, she's like a little sister to me. Taylor answers "no, she didn't want to see you if you weren't awake." I smile and nod "okay will you let her know I'm awake?" he nods and I roll over.
RILEY P.O.V.
after leaving shawns room I text Taylor asking if Carter woke up
R- how's carter, he awake?
T- yeah he asked if you stopped by.
R- did you tell him why I haven't?
T- yeah
R- tell him I'll stop by when I'm done with Gabbi
T- will do sista!!
once I get outside I saw Gab and I could tell she was upset. I ran up to her "Gabbi what's wrong?" I ask. she looks at me. "j-Jack and I broke up because I cheated on him.....with Matt" I begin to cry. "w-why?" I choke out. "h-he came u-up to me in the h-hallway of the h-hotel. he was mad. he s-said something about S-Shawn and then he pinned me a-against the wall" by now she was balling. "and I d-didn't stop him, I k-kissed back. oh my god I'm so sorry" I wrap my arms around her. "it's okay Gabbi, I forgive you" I pull away "lets go see Carter and Shawn." she nods. we are both trying to stop crying, once we succeed we walk in the hospital and into carters room. he reaches his arms out and I bend down to hug him, well as best as I could since he was sitting down "what's wrong?" he asks. "nothing" I lie. "tell my later Riley." he says seriously. I look over to see the door open and I lean down to Carter "it has to do with Matt" I say quietly as he walks through the door. "what're you doing here?" Matt yells at me. RILEY P.O.V.
I flinched when Matt yelled "talking to someone close to me" I said quietly. "get out" he said sternly. I stood up but Carter pulled me back. "Matt were over" I sighed looking anywhere but his eyes. "WHY" he yelled again I took a deep breath holding back tears "I know what you did" I say. Matt yelled again "I DONT FUCKING CARE JUST LEAVE SO I CAN TALK TO CARTER, MY BESTFRIEND". Carter spoke up "don't fucking come near me or her. we're not best friends, we never will be again." by now a tear had fallen and I wiped it. "whatever I'll go fuck with Shawn then" I stood up "leave him alone" I said sternly. "why? because he's your fuck buddy. don't want me to injure the little fuck boy." he said. that made me cry "I've never fucked him or anybody. and you fucking know that. I'm done with you. I don't want to see you again. leave." I pointed toward the door my tears not threatening to come out because I was angry. he left and slammed the door and I sat down in the chair. Carter spoke quietly. "Riley do you want to go back to the hotel, do you want to go hom-" I cut him off "NO" he nodded and took my hand "I'm going to call your brother and tell him to take you back to the hotel." I nodded "but I have to go see Shawn." I stood up quickly. "Riley I'll explain to Shawn what happened. he'll understand. you can see him tomorrow." he said calmly. I sat back down. Carter rubbed the back of my hand softly. "don't worry everything's gonna be alright"
