Puppy's and puppy love

A couple of days passed with no problem it had been mostly the same routine wake up, get picked up, go to school, be unable to find lif to talk about the project, go to classes, go to work every other day, if not go home and read or do whatever else you please, today though you didn't have work but needed to do some laundry until you could save up enough to go shopping for some newer clothes, you pulled out your phone ever grateful for the free wifi in your complex and you (albeit quite slowly) looked up where the nearest laundry mat was. It ended up being a few blocks down so you stuffed the stuff you would need washed into the bag grabbed a few dollars to exchange for quarters and began walking. As you thought while you walked you realized you only had one more day until the due date for your organization to be put in you quickly became frustrated with the lack of compliance in the girl. you sighed before seeing the laundry mat not far off in the distance, you quickly entered exchanging your dollars for coins and then stuffing the few outfits into the machine and starting it up hearing the machine start up and begin shaking to life. you saw 30 minutes on the timer and sat down pulling one of the few books you owned but still a good book in your opinion.

You eventually heard the washer go off and you switched it to the dryer you inserted two more coins and pressed start, you see the dryer click on and one hour appear in the led display at the top of the dryer. You set a timer on your phone and decided to explore a bit of the town. You walked for a bit before coming upon a puppy shelter. You smiled seeing a flyer for an open petting and walked in, you were greeted by a girl who wore a half apron with treats in her pockets, she led you back to several big kennels where she allowed you to pick out a puppy, and bring it back to a big open room to play. You were surprised when you entered to see the very girl you hadn't been able to find for the past two days, she was smiling and laughing as a puppy jumped up on her trying to lick her face. She was beautiful, you shook your head before sitting down with your puppy and picking up a rope toy she was startled at hearing the growling of the puppy not even realizing anyone had come in. She awkwardly looked down unsure of what to do. You both sat in silence before you spoke up "Did I do something to make you hate me?" You asked guiltily. Lif's head shot up "Oh (y/n) no! I- I'm just not very good with people." She said looking back down to the puppy she had picked out. You smiled at the realization you hadn't done anything. "Thank god! I was worried I did something" you said beginning to laugh as the puppy curled up in your lap. Lif began laughing as well and as you both laughed the puppies which you now saw was a black puppy and as you and hers curled together they looked like a yin-yang.

You smiled as lif and you were finally able to stop laughing. You both smiled at each other before lif perked up seeming to have an idea. "We could use this as our organization!" She burst out smiling. "Really?, do you think they'd let us?" You asked excitedly. "I know the people who run this place pretty well they usually let me come in here even if it's not a free petting day!" she said practically bouncing where she sat. You both smiled wide as you began to get up the lady from before walked in. "oh are you both done?" you both nodded and she moves from the doorway allowing you both out of the room while she dealt with the puppies, lif practically dragged you out to the front desk asking the receptionist lady for someone before pulling you into the back. When you got back there you saw a lady with curly red hair in a hoodie with the store's logo on it. "oh lif darlin can I help ya- and your friend?" she said with a thick southern accent shining through. yes, we were wondering if we could use this store as the organization for our fundraising assignment at school?" "Oh of course! is there anything I need to sign?" "No we just had to get permission but thank you!" "Of course, you've been such a big help with the puppies these past few months how i could I say no." lif and the lady talked a while longer before your phone went off signaling your laundry was done. you excused yourself lif following in tow.    

"so (y/n) where do you wanna meet up to work on it today" lif asked. " oh um maybe my place?" you said as you walked in the door of the laundry mat. lif nodded as she watched you take your clothes out of the dryer and begin folding them. "I'd offer to do it at my place but I don't need my sister bugging us every two seconds," she said you nodded showing you were still listening. you eventually finished and lif walked with you to your apartment you dug through the front pocket of your bag and eventually found your keys unlocking the door you stepped inside lif followed soon after. you had her wait in the living room that now had a couch rug and bookshelf you had bought with the money you had left over from what you had brought and the money you had earned from working. you put away the clothes you had washed and then grabbed the papers you and lif would need for the project. you walked back out seeing lif looking at the books on your bookshelf. "so ready to start?" you asked accidentally startling her. "oh yea! sorry, I was just looking at your bookshelf and I noticed you have a lot of (f/a)." "oh yea (f/a) is my favorite!" you said. "mine too!" she said a bright smile on her face. You both spent about 20 minutes talking about the author and what books are your favorites were in the series. you eventually got the paper filled out when you looked over lif was doodling and biting her lip out in a deep focus.

sensing someone was looking at her she looked over and smiled. She then looked at her phone and a face of panic spread across her face. "shoot! Dad said to be home by 6! it's 5:55!" she said panicking as she quickly gathered her things you quickly started to help her but looked over to your bookshelf spotting the first in a series from your favorite author one you knew lif hadn't read through your discussions about books. you quickly walked over to the bookshelf her bag in hand and grabbed the book you had spotted earlier and slipped it into her bag. "hey have you seen my bag anywhere!?" she said frantically looking around. "oh yea I have it right here" you said handing it to her" "thank you (y/n)! she said grabbing it from you" She smiled and waved as she ran out the door. You'd honestly be lying if you said that didn't make you smile and blush a bit. You decided to brush it off for now and you went to take a shower but before you even left the room you spotted a small square piece of fabric. you walked over to it and it was lifs handkerchief she must have left it here on accident. you decided you would give it to her tomorrow as you ate, took a shower, and went to bed.
