682 sped along the ground, her massive legs propelling her as much as they could. Her body was much much different than before, now being completely healed, she resembled a komodo dragon that was the size of a sperm whale, with shaggy green fur and a near infinite amount of eyes.
A large black dog with red, glowing eyes rode on top of her, barely able to hold on, howling to the heavens and plaintifully begging for anyone to assist, because Ghypsy wasn't going to be able to keep running like this for much longer and neither of them could fight that many demons. About 200 demons and imps followed close behind, hurling fireball after fireball at them, not paying attention to what was in the air and approaching rapidly.
The loud, steady rhythm of an M2 rang out across the barren landscapes, almost mute behind the sound of wind rushing past Kolgod's body as he came incredibly close to breaking the sound barrier.
Demon after demon, imp after imp, fell apart to red mush and Kolgod used his tail as a means of directional control while he threw his wings downward and gained altitude before making another pass, flying barely 10 feet over the earth and refusing to release the trigger until there were no more targets in his sights. Once the opposing forces' numbers had been cut in half, they broke off of their pursuit and retreated.
Ghypsy slowed down dramatically and stopped as soon as she could, breathing hard and looking for a puddle to lap from, discovering that there was a nice size pond that just happened to be near where she had stopped, and allowed Blackie to drink his fill and help his throat recover, before drinking what was left.
Kolgod landed and put the chainsaw away in his bug out box after dipping the hot barrel of the M2 into the water, before it was all gone, so it too may cool and not become ruined. He cleaned it up and put it away before slinging his box across his back and taking the small leap of a couple hundred feet across the crater to Ghypsy and Blackie, taking all his power not to cry in relief that he had made it and that they were both okay.
Kolgod breathed a sigh. "I'm so glad I made it in time..."
Ghypsy replied between breaths of air, "So are we. We'd be dead now if not for you."
Blackie hopped up on Kolgod and licked his chin, happy to see his old master again.
Ghypsy laid down and allowed Kolgod and Blackie to rest against her side, tired herself as well.
"How have you guys been doing? I mean other than the recent obvious." Kolgod asked Ghypsy, as Blackie couldn't speak outside of speaking Dog.
Ghypsy replied, "We've been alright. Scavenging for food and water wasn't hard, as passing convoys often recognized us and tossed what they could spare to us. Finding a place to sleep was the hard part, as the Demons seem to be everywhere, but apparently a lot of them suck at climbing so we just found an elevated position and slept there.
Kolgod chuckled lightly, "That's understandable. I'm glad you 2 are okay. Am I allowed to assume that you'll be coming with me from now on? I need help to find 049 and Rin so we can stop all this tragedy and rebuild earth. And the foundation, but it'll be nothing like the Foundation we used to have."
Blackie barked, giving his affirmation that he'd be coming with.
Ghypsy smirked and replied, "If I don't come with you'll end up dead, little boy."
Kolgod smiled and playfully smacked Ghypsy's flank. "I can still take you down any day."
Ghypsy laughed and stood up, allowing Kolgod and Blackie onto her back. "Whatever you say, little boy." She headed at a steady jog, under Kolgod's instruction, back to the base, where they found a bunch of dumbfounded people, a wide open gate, and a missing BTR.
