After a nice hot bath, one usually feels very relaxed and ready to lounge around the rest of the day, munching on snacks and watching TV or laying in bed, aimlessly staring at your phone for a few hours. It all started that way. Y/N was dressed up in a cute pajama set as pink as Max's hair, ready to lie down for a little nap before dinner so that she could stay up with her doll at night. It was the start of the weekend, so his curfew rules would not apply, meaning she would surely have a fun time later without worry.

She had hoped to cuddle with the little doll, but when she opened the door to her room, he wasn't anywhere around, certainly not where she left him. She clearly remembered leaving the magical being propped against her pillows, nice and cozy, but now, the spot was empty. Humming in confusion, she takes a look around before kneeling to check under the bed. He can't move around as a doll, so that begs the question, where could he have gone? Popping back up,she looks around again more worriedly.

"Max?" She calls in a whisper. Maybe he found a way to change earlier? Wouldn't that be swell? However, she felt that wasn't the case here. Maybe she remembered wrong and left him somewhere else in the apartment? "Hey, mom! Have you seen Max around?" The woman didn't answer, causing her to sigh and go find her, as not to get in trouble for shouting. The mother sat on the couch, reading a self-help book of some kind that she seemed very invested in as her daughter approached. It wasn't until the girl spoke that she even knew she was there.

"Ma, have you seen Max? He's not in my room." Lowering her book, M/N smiles calmly and nods her head.

"I just figured I'd pop him in the wash while you were taking a bath. I don't think we've ever washed that thing. It must have years of filth on it." Y/N's stomach sunk, and her horror showed clear on her face, causing M/N to sit up in surprise.

"What?! You can't just wash him! What if he shrinks or gets torn up! Or... Or... Or..." The girl was panicking. Anything could happen to him in the wash. He didn't even need it! He always smelled so nice and kept himself very neat and tidy. Then, another thought occurred.

What if he drowns?

"Ma, we have to take him out now!" Y/N rushed to the machine without a second thought, so afraid that her best friend would get hurt. Hurriedly, her mom jumped to her feet, leaving her book on the couch before chasing after her.

"Alright! Alright! I'm sure he's fine, Sweetie. We'll take a look at him." M/N knew that doll was the most precious thing to Y/N. Even if it was a gift from that man she wouldn't ever purposely try to ruin it, especially when it gave her daughter so much joy. Seeing her so distressed over it made her worry. She was getting a little old for fussing like this over something so small, but that could be a conversation for another day. Right now, she wished to ease her mind.
