•Y/N: Your Name
•H/C: Hair ColorYour POV:
"Y/N, it's time for school. Get up," mom shouts while pounding on my bedroom door causing me to release a groggy moan in displeasure as my eyelids peel open.
'I'm so tired.' I pull my new doll to my chest and cuddle him, wanting to fall back asleep until I realized that Max is once again a toy. Now wide awake, I sit up and look down at the pink-haired plush in awe while smiling happily. I wasn't sure if what I experienced was a dream or not, but, hopefully, it's all true that my new friend truly is a real person. I pick him up from beneath his armpits before lifting him above me.
"Morning, Max!" I giggle before setting him down on my pillow and hopping off the bed. I then search my drawers for something to wear before taking the clothes into the closet and shutting the door so that I can dress. I'm not going to dress in front of my new friend, especially since he said he can see as both a man and a doll— that'd just be weird. I come out in a sea-foam green sweatshirt with the face of a cute, white kitty on it and white shorts that go just above my knee.
Smiling, I make my way to the kitchen and find a bowl of Cheerios on the table that's meant for me. Mom must've left it there, so I sit at the table and start eating, hurrying so that I won't be late. After a quick trip to the bathroom, I grab my backpack and bring it into my room before tossing it onto my bed. I get myself a pair of white socks and shove my feet into them before looking over at Max, who wears that big grin of his. I can't help but smile back as I pick him up and hold him on my lap.
"Do you wanna come with?" Obviously, there was no response, but I think he would've said yes if he was able.
"Y/N, come on! You're going to be late."
"Coming, mama!" I hurriedly place Max inside my backpack making sure he won't be squished by any of the books before zipping it up and slinging the bag over my shoulder. I meet my mom at the door and stuff my feet into my black sneakers before turning to the woman. "Okay, I'm ready." I give her a tight, parting hug before she bends down to kiss my cheek.
"Have fun."
"I will!" I rush out of the house, running to the bus stop in hopes the bus hasn't arrived yet. Thankfully, I make it just in time. The long, yellow vehicle pulls up to the curb and opens its doors to allow me and one other person inside. I head for my usual spot near the back and was lucky to get a window seat today.
I hug my backpack on my lap as the bus takes off for it's next stop and wait a few moments before unzipping the large pouch. Smiling, I pull out my new toy and move the bag to the floor to put Max in its place. Something I immediately notice, that I didn't yesterday, was the warmth radiating off of the doll as I hold him tight, having the same temperature as a normal human being. I found this to be a wonderful detail and squeeze him even tighter before immediately lightening my hold. I don't want to hurt him.
At the next stop, a familiar girl, who's in my class, steps on. She's actually my reading partner in class, but I wouldn't consider us friends. She's part of the cool people group, where I don't really fit in, but she's very nice to me at least. Upon seeing me sitting alone in the back, she smiles and waves before walking over. I smile back, but, instinctively, hold on tighter to Max. I'm the only person she knows on the bus, so she often sits by me on the way to and from school.
"Hi, Y/N!" She greets while sliding into the seat beside me.
"Hey, Gwen." Her head tilts when she sees what's in my arms and asks,
