The next morning, Heidi stormed into the room, a furious expression etched on her face. In her hand, she clenched her phone tightly, as if it was the source of her anger. Without a word, she threw the phone at Tom, hitting him square in the chest.

"Look at this! Look at what's all over the news!" Heidi yelled, her voice filled with a mix of anger and betrayal.

Tom caught the phone, rolling his eyes at her dramatic outburst. He glanced down at the screen, seeing the paparazzi pictures of him and April from the previous night's gala. He let out a frustrated sigh, his patience wearing thin.

"Heidi, calm down," Tom said dismissively. "It's just a bunch of pictures. People will forget about them soon enough."

Heidi's face reddened with anger as she crossed her arms. "Forget about them? Do you think I'm blind? It's clear as day that you still have feelings for April. How could you do this to me?"

Tom's frustration grew as he felt unfairly attacked. "No, Heidi, you're overreacting. April and I had closure. We're both moving on with our lives."

Heidi's voice turned sharp and sarcastic. "Moving on? Right. Because secret conversations at a gala are signs of moving on. You clearly can't let go, can you?"

Tom, growing tired of the accusations, let out an exasperated sigh. "Oh please, Heidi. Don't act like you're innocent in all of this. You've been shading April from the beginning, constantly trying to make yourself feel superior. It's pathetic."

Heidi's eyes widened, hurt and anger flashing in her gaze. "How dare you! I've supported you through everything, and this is how you repay me? By defending your ex and attacking me?"

Tom, feeling the weight of his own frustrations, snapped back, his voice filled with sarcasm. "Yeah, that's exactly it, Heidi. I've been plotting this whole thing just to hurt you. Give me a break."

Heidi shook her head in disbelief, her voice trembling with anger. "I can't believe I ever trusted you. You're nothing but a selfish, ungrateful jerk."

Tom's eyes rolled involuntarily as he looked away, feeling a mix of frustration and regret. "Fine, Heidi. If you want to walk away, then go ahead. I'm tired of dealing with your constant insecurities and drama."

With that, Heidi stormed out of the room, leaving Tom standing there, feeling a mix of relief and resentment. He couldn't deny the lingering feelings he had for April, but he also couldn't ignore the toxic dynamic that had developed between him and Heidi.

As Tom processed the events of the morning, he couldn't help but wonder if he had made a mistake. Perhaps he had allowed his unresolved feelings for April to cloud his judgment and hurt someone who genuinely cared about him.

He sighed heavily, contemplating the consequences of his actions. It was time for him to take a step back and reevaluate his priorities. He needed to confront his own emotions and find a way to move forward, not just for himself but for the sake of his relationships.

Tom knew he had to address the unresolved issues with April, but he also needed to learn from his mistakes and prioritize the well-being of those around him. It was a lesson in maturity and self-reflection that he couldn't afford to ignore.

With a heavy heart, Tom realized that it was time to face the consequences of his actions and make amends. He had to acknowledge the hurt he had caused and take responsibility for his own growth and happiness.

As he pondered his next steps, Tom couldn't help but feel a mix of regret, frustration, and the glimmer of hope for a better future. The road ahead might be challenging, but he was determined to learn from his mistakes and become a better person.
