✧*̥˚ 28 | the blessing *̥˚✧

The door opens and I see a familiar face in the doorway. It's Minhyun's Mom and I flush, feeling a bit shy to be meeting her for the first time - and in this situation. I admire her beautiful features. I can't get over how much Minhyun looks so much like her, especially his eyes.

She greets me with a smile, "I was hoping you'd come around." 

I was surprised to know she seemed to have an inkling of what has been going on with Minhyun and me. I bow and greet her back, "Hello Mom, it's so nice to finally meet you." 

I realize it might have been weird to call her Mom already and I kind of wished I could take it back, but it was too late. My cheeks burned but she didn't seem to mind.

"Come in," she warmly ushers me into the house.

We're sitting on the dining table now and she's made us some tea. 

"I hear there's been some trouble between you two?" she asks when she's finally settled down across from me. She always had a way of asking really direct questions but in the nicest way. It never sounded confrontational.

I feel my cheeks burn again, I wasn't sure how much she knew about what happened between us but I felt ashamed. However, I decide to tell her the reason why I was here. 

"I made a mistake and I feel terrible for hurting Minhyun," I muster up all my courage to look at her in the eyes to show how sincere I was.

"-But your son is the most wonderful and loveliest man I've ever met. He's changed my life and I will spend everyday trying to make things right with him. I can't imagine life without his warmth and his light... If he can forgive me, I promise to cherish him... I want to be his constant, to be by his side through all the good and the bad... and I know this is a lot to ask from you but, it would mean the world to me if I could have your blessing." 

She looks at me and I can tell she's giving it some thought. 

Finally, she answers, "I don't know the full details of what happened between you two, but all I know is that you mean a lot to my son. Everybody makes mistakes, it's what you do afterwards that counts. So, the fact that you are here trying to make things right shows enough."

"I trust my son's judgement of you and I'll give you my blessings, but you have to promise me that you will love him unconditionally and live happily together. His happiness is the most important thing to me."

I feel my heart lighten up, I was touched that she had acknowledged my efforts and most of all, that I was able to earn her precious blessing. I was feeling more confident and even more determined to get him back. 

"I promise, his happiness is my priority too," I reach out to hold her hands. "Thank you for your blessing."

I feel a strong tug in my heart, it was so ready to run straight to him and I still knew I had more to do to mend things with him. I needed to go to him.

"Mom, by any chance... do you know I can find Minhyun?"

"Ah yes, he's down at Gwangalli Beach today."
