I laid under the covers crying my eyes out. Blaming myself of last weeks argument with Mathew. Flashbacks of him slamming the door in my face and throwing my suit case out the room made me cry even more.
It was my fault. I should have never broke up with him. I should have never said those things. I just did De'quan's dirty work, I'm so stupid....
"Nia you gotta get up and eat something." my mother came in the room and yanked the covers off my body.
"I'm not hungry."
She sighed. "You have to eat something. The baby needs you to be healthy."
I wiped my tears and put a hand to my plump stomach. I nod. "Okay."
She gave me a smile before giving me a grilled cheese sandwich. I sat up and ate a piece of the sandwich, little by little. "Everything is going to be okay Nia." my mother said.
I shook my head. "I just lost the love of my life."
She huffed. "Nia Marie Smith, it's not like he's dead. You can talk to him. Jazmine said he's at his apartment, going back to his dark corner. You need to go talk to him, before I lock both of y'all in a room together like old times."
I chuckled. "So that was you. I thought it was Marcus playing a prank."
"I made him take the blames from time to time. I'm serious Nia, both of you love each other. I haven't seen you so happy in the past 7 years. And yes, that was really stupid."
I took a big bite of my grilled cheese. "I know."
"Take a shower, brush your teeth and get dress. You're going over his apartment today to work this out."
I nod. "Okay."
"Is that grilled cheese." Anna walked in the room with a pint of sherbet in her hands. She's 4 months pregnant and look like she's 6 months. But she is having twins.
"Girl, it's some more downstairs." Mom said.
"Briana and Rodney ate them all. Can I just get a piece? I'll give you a scoop."
I shrugged and tore a piece of the sandwich and put it in her hand while she scooped a big thing of sherbet and put the spoon in my hand.
"Y'all are some fat asses." my mother comment.
I don't even know what came over me, but I started to cry and so did Anna.
My mother rolled her eyes. "Jesus."
"You're so mean." Anna cried out.
My mother rubbed her eyes. "What ever. Nia, make sure you talk to him." She walked out the room.
I sniffed and wiped my tears. "Stupid hormones."
Anna nod and wiped her eyes. "Thats my cry of the day. Have a nice day." Unexpectedly she took a bite of my sandwich and took the spoon that is still full of sherbet before speed walking out the room.
"You're so fat!" I yelled.
**************
I took a deep breath before knock his door. Butterflies formed in my stomach as I heard the locks on the door turn. Soon the door opened revealing a half naked Lisa; (Mathew's ex-girlfriend) standing at the door.
"Hey Nia." she smiled.
Even tho I feel so hurt, I put in a smile. "Hi Lisa."
"Are you looking for Mathew? He's in the shower at the moment, do you want to come in?" She opened the door wider, making the article of clothing on the floor visible.
