Jennie was no baby. She didn't have to get pampered all the time by her girlfriend and could most certainly survive watching a horror movie without being scared if she wanted to (she really didn't).
So when Jisoo teased her for how big of a baby she was and how she loves that Jennie is so cute and adorable, it was within her nature to instantly disagree and defend herself from these baby allegations.
"Okay then if you're not a big baby who needs someone to cling on to, then prove it by watching this movie and not getting scared." Jisoo suggested with a smirk, thinking that Jennie would back down, but also quite curious to see how far Jennie was willing to go to deny something that was most definitely true.
"I will hmph!" Jennie replied indignantly, her cheeks puffed up as she pouted while crossing her arms and turning her head pointedly. Although she seemed somewhat composed on the outside, the girl was panicking immensely on the inside, berating herself in her head for getting herself into something she couldn't handle because of her pride.
Jisoo sat there in shock at first at how adamant and stubborn the younger girl was, but ultimately decided to just go with the flow, as she knew the girl would be trembling and hiding in her arms, not even five minutes into the movie, so she just chose to smirk and nod as she grabbed the remote and went to search through the horror movies on Netflix. She stopped on a movie that wasn't one of the scariest, but nonetheless one that would scare her girlfriend. She pressed play and immediately Jennie jumped, making Jisoo laugh as the movie hadn't even started and the girl was already scared.
In turn Jennie turned to glare at her and made an excuse blaming the fact that she was just testing out her reflexes and that she was not scared, to which Jisoo laughed and said
"Wow! Some great reflexes you got there Mandeukie!" with feux amazement, making the younger groan in annoyance and mumble to herself as she pouted angrily towards Jisoo.
"Let's just watch the stupid movie" she muttered in annoyance and embarrassment. Jisoo snorted at this and pressed play.
Jennie's eyes were shaking as she focused on the movie, the phrases 'it's not real' and 'it's just a movie' being chanted like a mantra in her head repeatedly, trying to calm herself down and show she could prove she is no baby.
However, her resolve didn't last long, as at the first jumpscare she screamed and hid her face behind her hands.
Jisoo let out a little chuckle at how much of a scaredy-cat her girlfriend really was and then said "Are you sure you don't want me to hold you Jendeuk?" teasingly.
Jennie, who was terrified and trembling slightly, still let her pride get the better of her (even though all she wanted was to jump into her girlfriends arms and hide) and shook her head no. Jisoo seeing this, felt a little bad for the mandu as she could read Jennie better than anyone else and knew that the girl was really scared, but chose not to coddle her just yet, to see how far Jennie was willing to go.
Jennie remained hidden behind her hands and continued to watch the movie between the gaps of her fingers. As it started to get intense, another jumpscare approached, as the lady in the film turned around, only to be met with a creepy face smiling in her direction. This made Jennie scream once again and this time, she couldn't hold back, as she quickly buried herself in Jisoo's arms, face hiding in her neck, as tears left her eyes at how scared she was.
Jisoo quickly embraced the younger and held her protectively, whispering soothing words in her ear, reminding her it was not real, until she felt her girlfriend stop crying and trembling against her.
"It's okay baby, it's all fake, I'm right here for you. You're safe love" she whispered once more as she placed a soft kiss on Jennie's forehead. The mandu let out a whimper and relished in the safety of Jisoo's arms.
After the girl had fully calmed down, Jennie just remembered about the fact that she had lost and unfortunately for her, and in that same moment, Jisoo did too.
"Hmmm, now what was it you said about not being a baby??" the older asked teasingly with a smirk on her face.
"Whatever" Jennie grumbled to herself, huffing in annoyance, still not getting out of jisoo's embrace. The older chuckled at this and then started to tickle the girl in her arms, trying to cheer up the grumpy kitten.
"J-jichuuuu! Stopppp" she managed to squeal out in between her giggles. Jisoo just smiled at her adorable giggles and finally stopped when a tear started trickling down Jennies face at how much she was laughing.
She stopped and moved the mandu, so that she was sitting on her lap, and stared at her softly, before placing tender kisses all over her face. Jennie just giggled and blushed shyly and hugged her girlfriend tightly.
"I was wrong before babe, you're not a baby, you're MY extremely precious baby, and I will always be here to take care of you, as a good girlfriend should. Don't be ashamed of your clingyness because I absolutely adore you for it" she reassured the younger, making her tear up a little out of happiness and pull jisoo into a loving and passionate kiss. They both only pulled back when they were in desperate need for air.
"I love you so much Chu" she professed inbetween her pants for breath.
"I love you more my Jendeukie" the older replied as they smiled adoringly at each other.
