"Why?" Anna growled out as she tightened her hold on Jasper. Rhysand was soon there to loosen her hold on him and to calm her. Jasper though sent the two a small smile as he rubbed soothing circles on Anna's back feeling her temperature rise. He didn't want to dwell on it but he was worried about Anna. There was something that was going on with her, but he knew it had something to do with what she was. He then shook his thoughts away and turned his attention to Alice with a look of worry. The others were shocked to hear such a sound from Anna but understood why. Knowing the woman didn't want to be away from Jasper. But they were clueless as to why Alice had said they needed to go. So they all turned their attention to Alice waiting for her to explain as they dragged and cleaned up the newborns, throwing them into the fire.

"They're coming," Alice muttered out after hearing the growl from Anna. She knew then that the two wouldn't leave Jasper so she sighed with a small smile. Rhysand soon sent her a small smile back as Anna had frowned upon her face. But everyone's attention was pulled away from them and turned to the tree line. It was Edward and Bella walking fast and heading towards Alice in hast. Causing everyone to gather around Alice near the fire.

"How long?" Edward asked Alice once he and Bella were close to her. The two had just gotten back from the mountains. Edward soon heard Alice's thoughts about the Volturi's guard coming soon.

"A few minutes. Maybe ten," Alice answered Edward. She then looked at Edward and Bella over to see if they were both okay. Alice could tell by the look on her brother's and Bella's face that something had happened to the two. So she made a mental note to ask the two later what had happened.

"They timed their arrival well," Rosalie chimed in as she looked into the blazing fire with her arms crossed. Emmett, soon done with burning the newborns, came beside his mate and placed an arm around her. This led Rosalie to send him a smile which he returned.

"Probably hoping the newborns took a few of us out," Emmett grunted.

"Who are you all talking about exactly?" Rhysand questioned from his spot beside Jasper and Anna. Rhysand could tell by the way everyone around him and Anna were tense, that someone was coming. But he didn't know if they were bad or not. All he knew was that he and Anna weren't going anywhere. Not when they just found their mate, Jasper.

"Some of the guards from the Volturi are coming. I'll explain to you both later more in depth of who they are. Just... for now please stay by my side and stay quiet," Jasper informed the two with a pleading look upon his face. Rhysand sighed and nodded, he knew that this was serious. So with a heavy heart Rhysand moved closer, reached over and took Anna's arms from around Jasper's neck. Anna resisted for a moment until Rhysand placed her arms around his own neck. And he took Anna into his arms. Anna didn't want to let go of Jasper but did so reluctantly. Her instincts are trying to take over. But as long as she was in one of her mates arms, and the other was close by she could bear it. Jasper didn't want to let go of Anna but did so allowing Rhysand to take her.

"What's she doing here? And who are they?" Edward asked about the strangers that were here. Two being the ones next to his brother Jasper, and then the girl hides behind Carlisle and Esme. Edward didn't know who they were and was on guard.

"We offered her a safe haven if she stopped fighting and she took it. And those two are Rhysand and Anna... Jasper's mates," Esme explained to Edward and Bella. Who were looking at the three with curious and guarded looks. Both were soon shocked at what they heard.

"The pack needs to leave. the Volturi won't honor a truce with the wolves. I know you two most likely won't leave Jasper's side. All I ask is please stay quiet," Carlisle informed everyone with a necessary sigh.

"That's going to be hard for Rhysand," Anna mumbled out with a chuckle. She at that moment thought Rhysand was the only one to hear what she said. But hearing a few laughs she figured that all of them could hear. Which led her cheeks to warm up. Tightening her hold on Rhysand she shoved her head into his neck. Trying to hide from everyone's view.
